Life is beautiful Las Vegas

Life is beautiful

Is anyone planning to be there? I'll be there next week but not for that, although I usually stay downtown, this time I'll be off strip.
Being a low roller my comps have all but dried up except for one particular hotel which sent me free nights on specified dates in September so I pounced on it.
The I Heart Music is the 24th and 25th while Life is Beautiful is the 23rd to the 25th. Hotels are not going to be cheap that weekend. I'm going up this weekend.
I pounced on my October 16-19 dates and the MSS was booked,so it's the Fremont for first 2 of 4 days.
Maybe I'll miss the street closures. No matter.
Maybe I can meet Candy, vegasdev, but she is going to be on a stand by flight.
There are a few people(On this forum) that I would like to meet,in person.

I won't be there then but looked up the festival out of curiosity. It looks a lot bigger than I thought. Another date that I will avoid Vegas for. Not just because I'm old and grumpy, I don't think I would have enjoyed that even in my younger days.

That is probably a more accurate statement. When I was young I was never really 'not grumpy' unless I was working. I grew up and got over it.

Now the wife says the only time I am grumpy is when the surf is flat for a week or more.

I still can't wrap my head around the idea of some of these "festivals" i.e. burning man, electric daisy carnival, life is beautiful......

Perhaps I am subconsciously disturbed that I was never that "wild and free."
The sellers of X figured out years ago that rather than go out to their base, they would let their base come to them. Marketing 2100.
For what it's worth, my friends went once or even twice and aren't going. I always also joke that I missed my "party gene". A play on that "shopping gene" commercial, but nothing about a music festival (and I love music) seems remotely fun to me. Having no seat and no real schedule and a lot of hurry up and wait and be cattle herded and have beer spilled on me in hundred degree weather is remotely appealing.

as for the crowds, other than closed streets and Fremont. The life is beautiful isn't too bad. But the edc crowd takes over and everything is seriously sold out. It is a large crowd and you will see them everywhere. But they don't cause any trouble. Just do their thing.
