A little food porn

Stopped by Costco today to pick some USDA prime ribeyes, instead walking out with this guys and a couple lobster tails to boot. If I have one weakness, it's food shopping, especially at Costco. Well they didn't have any prime ribeyes that appealed to me and the whole tenderloins looked fantastic, all except for the price on the sticker.

I'm not a huge Delmonico fan, but this guy looked good and for 70 couple bucks he looked great. After all the trimming and cutting I ended up with 8 1"-1 1/4" to 1"-1 1/2" cuts for the grill and 2 3" cuts (the shoulder end) for some kind of roast. I'm not familiar with whole strip loins, this is my first but these guys look absolutely fantastic, I can't wait to get one on the grill.

Also, after cutting I ended up with ten cuts of USDA thick cut prime strips for a little over seven bucks, I can't get that for a choice strip at my local grocery store.

Can see one of our pups looking on intently, they were digging some of the scraps going their way

My wife started buying me these Wusthoff knives and I love 'em. Sharp as a razor blade and holds an edge for quite a while between sharpenings.[URL=https://s1187.photobucket.com/user/jatki/media/IMG

They look good.

Remember not to age them this time.

HEY! My aged tenderloins turned out great once I got the hang of it. Always a learning curve ya know. LOL.

Wusthoff knives...I guess the Germans know all about that kind of stuff...LOL.

Talking about your doggy eyeing the goods made me think about the movie A Christmas Story, though the target of those dogs was the "Turkakanus...something." Anyway, yum yum!

Well, you’re all set then. Anytime you need to trim a steak, just dust off the Wusthoffs.

I'm glad that I ate prior to looking at this post again. If hungry, this would kill me.
