Well it does raise some interesting questions: Like: How does CNN know this? Was this the result of government electronic eavesdropping on Trump Tower? By what department? Did they have warrants? Who authorized it? Who leaked this information? Did President Obama know about this monitoring of the political opposition? When did he know it? Right. Nothing to see here.

Of course these '2800 computer interactions' could be like the big nothing that was implied when this topic originally came up...They were coming from a Marketing Server owned by a 3rd party Hotel Marketing Company that was spamming the world with Trump Convention Facilities advertisements. Bottom line is it isn't just Fake News, It's OLD DEBUNKED FAKE NEWS.

For those who think the possibility that Trump Towers was wiretapped by the Obama Administration is ridiculous, you might find the words of former Democratic Congressman Dennis Kucinich interesting.

https://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2017/03/10/dennis-kucinich-im-no-fan-trumps-but-hes-got-point-about-wiretapping.html

"President Trump’s assertion that his phones at Trump Tower were tapped last year has been treated as hilarious—and in some circles as beyond contempt. But I can vouch for the fact that extracurricular surveillance does occur, regardless of whether it is officially approved. I was wiretapped in 2011 after taking a phone call in my congressional office from a foreign leader.

That a secret recording had been made of this call was revealed to me by the Washington Times in 2015, a full two years after I left office.

...I have never gone public with this story, but when I saw the derision with which President Trump’s claims were greeted—and notwithstanding our political differences—I felt I should share my experience.

When the president raised the question of wiretapping on his phones in Trump Tower, he was challenged to prove that such a thing could happen.

It happened to me."

There you go!
Dennis Kucinich? Really?
That's akin to bringing a waffle ball bat to a knife fight. You go, girl!

Right. A US congressman secretly recorded in his congressional office and that recording leaked to the press. Nothing to see here. Isolated incident. I thought you lefties loved Kucinich. So what are you claiming? Democrat Kucinich is making this up?

Did you read the story? I did. The tape was found in Libya, so the preponderance of evidence would indicate that it was made by the Libyan that had the conversation, or by Libyan intelligence.
Unless one chooses to believe that the US government made it, and warehouses it in a secret Libyan CIA safe house. In Bengazi , perhaps?

Did you read the story?

"If sources had indeed discovered the tapes in Tripoli, there is no plausible explanation for how they would have chosen the Washington Times to carry the story. And which foreign intelligence service conceivably could have been interested in my phone call, had the technology to intercept it, and then wanted to leak it to the newspaper?

There’s a simpler explanation: I believe the tape was made by an American intelligence agency and then leaked to the Times for political reasons. If so, this episode represented a gross violation of the separation of powers."

I guess billryan thinks he knows more about this than the 16 year 'progressive' congressman who was the actual target of the surveillance. YOU go girl!

If you believe the tape is real, then you have to believe it was found in Libya.
Simple question, if US intelligence made it, why would they give it to the Washington Times? Did hundreds of other papers pass on it?
A very simple explanation is the person who made the call recorded it.
As for DK being loved on the left, take ten seconds and Google how well his perennial Presidential campaigns went.

Well if you believe Kucinich, the tape IS real. Because he heard it and recognized his own conversation. But if you believe him, then there is no reason to believe it was found in Libya...because he casts doubt on that. So the bottom line is either you believe former 8 term democratic progressive congressman Kucinich or you don't. I've always thought he was a pretty honest guy even though I didn't agree with him on a lot of topics, there were many I did.

Of course he could very well just be wrong about this. I'm open to that possibility. I do find it an interesting write up that casts serious doubts about the nature of our Government's spying on Americans. Like how did General Flynn's conversations leak to the press? What about those conversations between Trump and the Australian and Mexican Presidents. Don't you see a problem with that?

I'm shocked at how quickly you dismiss his claims and I have no doubt it's only because his piece suggests Trump might not be as crazy as you think he is. Ok. I'm not shocked.
He says, in the article, he doesn't know who made the tapes, nor did he even bother to ask the reporters who made it or how they came to have it.
Every collection agency records calls, as do many customer service representatives. I would think someone calling a Congressman to get him to help a third party would record it, if only so there are no questions when relaying it to their bosses.
An even better question would be why anyone would think a backbencher like him would be able to accomplish anything.
