Perhaps the Bootlegger Bistro .
DonDiego has not eaten at the Bootlegger Bistro in pr'bly two decades, but it
used to be excellent when it was on Tropicana. It looked like a semi-classy family Italian place, . . . somewhere where Sicilian assassins might be planning, well,
something nefarious in the shadowed corner booth while bambinos played with Mama in the kitchen.
And the food was really outstanding.
The place moved to 7700 Las Vegas Boulevard South a few years ago, . . . on the Strip about a mile south of the airport. DonDiego hasn't been there. The restaurant remains in the family, so the recipes should be the same. And now there's nightly entertainment. DonDiego hopes the lighting is still just a mite too dim.
