Looking for an "old school" Italian restaurant rec.

I was wondering if anybody could recommend a good old school italian restaurant in Vegas. Something that's been there a long time, maybe even once owned or frequented by the Mob. Any ideas?
When I was 17 I worked in an Italian restaurant and ate dinner with a big time mobster. This was about 2 months before his son "Little Pussy" Russo was gunned down in a hail of bullets. But I digress.

Casa d'Amore or Battista's might meet your requirements.
Perhaps the Bootlegger Bistro .

DonDiego has not eaten at the Bootlegger Bistro in pr'bly two decades, but it used to be excellent when it was on Tropicana. It looked like a semi-classy family Italian place, . . . somewhere where Sicilian assassins might be planning, well, something nefarious in the shadowed corner booth while bambinos played with Mama in the kitchen.

And the food was really outstanding.

The place moved to 7700 Las Vegas Boulevard South a few years ago, . . . on the Strip about a mile south of the airport. DonDiego hasn't been there. The restaurant remains in the family, so the recipes should be the same. And now there's nightly entertainment. DonDiego hopes the lighting is still just a mite too dim.

DonDiego has no personal, financial, or other interest in the cited eating establishment. He is not affiliated with any Italian (or Sicilian) family or enterprise, . . . not that there'd be anything wrong with that.
I've been to bootleggers. I liked it but didn't dine with any mobsters.

Casa d'Amore is going to have more of the atmosphere you are looking for plus I think they have a free limo ride from your hotel.
Piero's

This place used to be owned by the mob and was used as a place of business. Heavly frequented by the Rat Pack and lots of celebrities and presidents. It aint cheap. Its one of the landmarks on the Las Vegas Mob Tour.
Just to be safe, ask the manager to eat a small bit of the ground beef or pork from the grinder, in front of you.

Pieros is overpriced and the food is overrated. Freddie Glusman, the owner, is a scumbag.
