Lost sports book ticket question..........

I seem to have lost my Superbowl sports book tickets when I forgot it in my pocket and subsequently washed my clothes in effect disintergrating my tickets. I know boo-hoo-hoo. However, before losing the tickets I took pictures of it and I can still print up a copy of the tickets. Does anyone know if the sports book would honor a picture of the tickets should it win. One ticket I bought for $100 to collect $190.90 on the under 46.5 total points (-110). The other ticket I bought for $75 to collect $143.20 on the NFC to win the point line bet +3 at -110.
If you bought the tickets in a casino you play alot (and I do mean ALOT!!!!) and know some upper management people or a host, you may have a .00001% of them doing something about it (maybe at the deadline for someone to come forward with the "hard copy" ticket").

Ask them, if they can't give you the cash if your bets win, if you can get a free stay with a few extras tacked on. That would be good PR since you would come back and tell everyone here how great they are about things like this.

Good Luck

I had bet on the Lakers in the playoffs several years ago, and my wallet was pickpocketed. I went to the sports book at Mandalay Bay. They had me fill out a form for a lost ticket and I had to give as many specifics as possible. I fortunately bet very late at night and had bet a $33 ticket. I was able to give the date and time within a 15 minute window. It is safe to say that nobody else had a similar bet during that time. They gave me some kind of disclaimer that it might take a few weeks before they made their decision. The Lakers won and covered. Mandalay Bay sent me a check in less than a week.

I'd suggest you print out a copy and stop by or telephone now, well before the game. Speak with "management" and ask them the procedure. If not in the area, you may be able to resolve this issue via email.

I strongly believe doing it now, instead of waiting to see if you bets may have won, would be the proper approach to protect your interests. It would also allow the sports book more flexibility in how they want to handle the issue.

They will be able to tell you how to proceed, and will be able to "note" the original ticket in their computer system.

Better to protect yourself before the game, than try to collect after when you could be considered another possible scammer.

It is also conceivable that there could be a "wait" period before getting paid.

I am not a sports bettor, but I do know how the California Lottery works regarding lost tickets: if you can provide certain info, they will investigate and can honor a lost ticket claim. I know that it is common for lottery pools to photo copy tickets (front and back) and the photo copy OF THE BACK can prove ownership of a ticket because of the bar code that is unique on each ticket sold.

To be honest, I dont know what the sports bet ticket at your casino looks like but ANY evidence you have of the ticket including the shredded, washed out paper, should help you establish ownership-- especially if there is a bar code or any computerized proof.

It doesnt matter if your bets total $175 or 175-thousand dollars -- you will get the same protections. The rule in Nevada is that when you claim that you lost a ticket, the casino will ask you for as much info as you can provide so it can find the ticket in its system (considering it was done with a computerized system and wasnt simply hand written). That "lost ticket" will now be "locked" and if no one else claims it within the ticket's expiration time, you can get it because you were able to identify it as "your bet."
Since you have the ticket (albeit a photocopy ) you have all the info you need to tell the sportsbook the time, date etc when it was purchased. Call or stop in and fill out a lost ticket form. Try to do this BEFORE the game otherwise you will have about a 60 day waiting period (to insure no one tries to cash the old ticket ). It also depends on the sportsbook--I was told at Bally's it was no problem but it would have been a problem at Caesar's (even though they are both under the same owner ). Hope this helps..and good luck on the bets!
Jackor is correct -- cashing the ticket should not be much of a problem. Always photocopy big tickets or tickets you will be holding awhile. I had futures tickets from Treasure Island that turned black once, although stored in a cool closet, in a plastic bag, in a briefcase. The roll of paper on which they were printed was flawed and heat sensitive, I was told. Perfect for August in Las Vegas. Anyway, it took a couple of hours, but the tickets were in the accounting data base.

As long as you have copies, you should be good.
You will be able to collect if you win. Did you use your players card when you placed the bet? If you did you should have 0 problems collecting. If not, then you will have to fill out forms, and after a few weeks you will have your $.
The ticket lost already. I just ate a Superbowl of cereal and there is nothing left.

j/k

hope you get this resolved. But start getting on the ball ASAP. I believe casino's are open 24/7 so you should put in a call...
