Veteran Las Vegas comedian Louie Anderson wins Emmy for ‘Baskets’ role.

I am happy for him, it has been a long time coming. I wanted to see him when he was at the Plaza, but I missed out. last I heard, his health was not good, apparently, he is doing better now. I have never seen the "Baskets" show.

He got an Emmy for playing some one's mother?

Louie was horrible when we saw him at the Plaza. Baskets is a strange show but he's pretty good as Zach Galifianakis' mother. Baskets has a John Waters weirdness about it so I can't help but see Louie channeling Divine.

Snidely nailed it. He is hilarious as Chip's mother in Baskets (if you appreciate dry and biting humor.)

I saw his standup show a few years back when he was on the strip. It was awful. His heart wasn't into it at all. A few people got up and walked out half way through and he insulted them in a mean spirited way.

I was always a big fan of his comedy in movies and HBO specials...but his Vegas show was lousy
