Of course in 2012, on average blacks had to wait in line to vote 60% longer than whites. But that was just a coincidence, right? In any case treegirl, here's a new vocabulary word for you: de facto. Look it up and we can continue this chit chat.

I guess it's only bullying to BobOrme when Team Racism is on the losing end.
Team racism?

As I stated earlier, there are usually two common denominators (people) who seem to be in almost every heated political thread. They keep cut and paste files on everybody they perceive to be a rival, and apparently this board is their life. Unfortunately they don't realize their race baiting tactics are generally every bit as racist as what they claim others to be.
BobOrme- do yourself a favor and remember this forthcoming quote when trying to deal with Chilcoot and forkush- " Talk sense to a fool and they call you foolish". Flaming liberals will never be considered as sane by normal people. They just mouth off and say whatever idiotic thing their befuddled minds conjure up whenever confronted with reality. Trying to reason with them is a complete waste of time. All one can do is wait til they finish screwing things up - then actual sane people are left to clean up the liberals mess.

Bruce attacked treegirl a dozen times in various threads. In most of those attacks, he used the number you quoted, a number that was pulled out of someone's butt, and ran with it. There aren't racially separate lines for voting. Any discrepancy in line times that could be measured would have to be related to voting districts that are predominantly populated by one race. That would NOT indicate any form of discrimination. It might indicate inexperience amongst election volunteers, or inadequately staffed/equipped facilities. To claim that any such discrepancies are a direct result of white racism is foolish.

Typical obfuscation and deflection. RM clearly made his point in a single post, obviously in response to a personal attack made on him.

If there were a "Team Racism" on this forum, it would include you and Bruce. You see racism where it does not exist and are blind to it where it does exist. You yourself have claimed that different races prefering the company of their own races over other races is "horrible" and should not happen. Perhaps there should be government imposed neighborhood integration so there won't be any predominately black, white, hispanic, Polish, or Chinese neighborhoods. There should be no China Town area in any city in this nation under your opposition to free association. All sovereign tribal nations within this country should integrate. If they don't, they must certainly be racist.

Your bully tactics are a warped form of a need to feel superior over other people. ....much like most REAL racists.

I don't consider it to be a complete waste of time. Sometimes, someone realizes they were wrong. I don't expect chilcoot or forkush to have any such revelation, but perhaps some who thought they agreed with them will realize how wrong they were.

Chinatown for Dummies:

  • Chinese people who congregate in Chinatown because they want to enjoy and foster their culture are admirable.
  • Chinese people who think that those with Chinese blood, skin color, and features are superior to other races are, by definition, racially prejudiced - and should not be too surprised when others point this out. But this type of ignorance is very common and very human. Oh well.
  • Chinese people who think that some other races should be racially profiled and should have a tougher time voting are virulent despicable racists.

So what say you Bob? Do you support racial profiling and having shorter voting hours in predominately black neighborhoods? If you refuse a straight answer, that will say it all, won't it?

Free association and a tendency to gravitate to areas that are populated by people who "are like me" is natural for people of every race and ethnicity. It is not an expression of self-perceived superiority, no matter how much you wish it was. Apparently, that is something you will never understand. Your straw man scenarios are nonsense and baseless. You not only look for hate where it doesn't exist, you create fantasy situations and suggest that they are real enough to warrant commentary.

  • No. But, what's up with these new claims? What happened to the 60%? More straw men. I do know that early voting was available in many precincts nationwide. The New Black Panther Party was profiling voters before they entered the poling places in some predominately black neighborhoods. That couldn't have been racist, could it?

Well this thread has surprisingly degenerated into a rational discussion.

Bob you are behaving sensibly and are conducting yourself in a mature and respectful , manner. I have to take this opportunity to ask:
You do know that there are multiple posters here that are overtly racist, openly bigoted, and proudly ignorant? Are you ever tempted to call them out? I'm guessing that you don't see the need with Forky and Chil on the job.

Just a thought, a well placed word from a right wing stalwart like yourself might go a long way to disarm the more radical hate filled element on LVA. Please think about speaking up.

    Happy 4th!!!!!!!!!!!!
Excellent points and very well said, no make that extremely well said and right on point. Good job!

Oh I agree COMPLETELY, especially if that "are like me" is based on culture, geography, religion, shared experience, language, idioms, and so on.

But treegirl specified "race" only, and you backed her play. That's racial prejudice.

And when blacks get racist, two scary black guys stand outside of one precinct. and become a semi-permanent video loop on Fox "News." When white people get racist, black precincts get fewer early voting hours than white ones. When blacks get racist, they sing nasty songs. When whites get racist, police engage in racial profiling. When blacks get racist, they call you honky. When whites get racist, they spend thousands less on children in predominately black public schools.

Because of the imbalance in power, the effects of black racism are trivial, while the effects of white racism are pervasive. If you really believed in "We the people" instead of just people who "are like me," you'd actually give a damn about it. Happy 4th.
