I pity your family having to put up with you.

My guests asked why I keep checking my computer, and what I was typing. A couple hours ago I showed them and my niece thinks I'm being "too mean" to you. Everybody else think it's funny and you deserve it. It was suggested that I ask you to "stop pounding me into the ground".

I'm about to start drinking right now, this could get even weirder.

Currenty got fireworks in the neighborhood going off, also got fireworks on the FFA.

It's a Double Your Fun kind of evening
Umm, . . . see next post.

I'm not taking any chances.....IBTD
Well, . . . the one thing that this thread demonstrates definitively is that some folks really should have to pass a test before they are permitted to vote.

Reading Comprehension Test

It's time for a contest between Roulette Man and Number 51 to settle this thing once and for all. Let's see...test of Intelligence? Honesty? Douchiness?? Skill? Agility, Knowledge? Strength? Ethics? Eating?

This is going to take some thought....And there has to be some consequences for losing...To the Pain! Oh..it also needs to be a contest where we can wager on the results. To the Gain!

Bob you are behaving sensibly and are conducting yourself in a mature and respectful , manner. I have to take this opportunity to ask:
You do know that there are multiple posters here that are overtly racist, openly bigoted, and proudly ignorant? Are you ever tempted to call them out? I'm guessing that you don't see the need with Forky and Chil on the job.

Just a thought, a well placed word from a right wing stalwart like yourself might go a long way to disarm the more radical hate filled element on LVA. Please think about speaking up.

Happy 4th!!!!!!!!!!!!

There have been times that I've considered jumping on some incredibly ignorant posts. The most recent was made by someone relatively new to the forum who posted in Glen Wiggy's post about the Black Forest fire in Colorado Springs. That idiot implied the fire was God's reaction to Colorado passing gay marriage and marijuana legalization ballot issues. By the time I had read his post, others had appropriately responded and a moderator had contacted him about how inappropriate his post was. Had I seen that post earlier, my response may well have sent me to Banned Camp. I live about 10 miles from that burn area. My response would have been emotional and not civilized.

Sometimes it is difficult to know what is truly in someone's heart when reading a few message board posts. Some folks don't do a very good job of explaining their views. What they write isn't always a succinct expression of what they actually feel. The subject of racism is not absolute. Free association is viewed by some people as racism or discrimination when it is neither. Some believe racism, depending on who is being racist, is excusable, trivial and/or justifiable. That sentiment is not the sole property of any specific ideological tilt.

Happy Birthday America!

I appreciate the honest response, and understand what you're saying. I hope down the road the timing is better and you (and other thoughtful conservatives) have the chance show the difference between right wing and bat shit. I have a house full of Republicans right now, and there is no hate here.

Oh I agree COMPLETELY, especially if that "are like me" is based on culture, geography, religion, shared experience, language, idioms, and so on.

But treegirl specified "race" only, and you backed her play. That's racial prejudice.

I didn't "back her play". I pointed out you were a bully after your dozen attack posts against her. I have a feeling that it would not have made any difference to you if tg had added any other commonality involved in free association.

When white people get racist, black precincts get fewer early voting hours than white ones. When blacks get racist, they sing nasty songs. When whites get racist, police engage in racial profiling. When blacks get racist, they call you honky. When whites get racist, they spend thousands less on children in predominately black public schools.

I get it. You think racism is okay if black people are the racists. When I wrote about early voting, it wasn't about poling hours on general election day. It was about being able to vote days before the general election. In some places, that was in effect before the final debate. Washington DC spends over $18,000/student in the public school system. Utah spends about $6,000/student in the public school system. DC is about 50% black. Utah is about 85% white.

So, some racism is acceptable, depending on the race of the racist.

Explaining and understanding freedom of association is not advocating segregation, no matter how much you want it to.

Understood and I appreciate it too. My own immediate family is mostly liberal. I still love them all!
