Luxury on Lake Las Vegas

The casino isn't part of the hotel and isn't owned by the hotel. It is a short walk from the hotel. Obviously you aren't familiar with the Ritz Carlton chain. The Ritz Carlton is in the same league as hotel chains like the Four Seasons, St. Regis, and Langham. I don't know if the new hotel will be as nice, but it is the same building.

This is the equivalent of taking a nice cruise. I'm not going to let the size of the onboard casino be a decision factor of whether or not I take a specific cruise.
Connected or not, the casino is part of the attraction. Being cheap , I find $250- $500 per night for a place to sleep as outrageous.

You also think that the $81 rate (including resort fee) is too high. You must not be a real Doctor, I'm guessing Chiropractor.

I agree. At that price the room better come with a hooker.

For me, the room is a place to sleep and grab a quick shower before heading out again. Now if you're the type of person to take advantage of pools or other hotel amenities, then I can see added value.

And speaking of resort fees, I especially hate the ones that include something like a free buffet as part of the resort fee, but you have to pay the fee every day and only get one per stay of the thing covered by the daily fee.

I guess everything's relative. I spent $80/night to stay at a TravelLodge in Ocala, FL. I have a feeling the place in Lake Las Vegas is a little nicer =)

It still looks pretty nice to me.

I believe there are also concerts held on a special stage at the lake.
