LVA web traffic dropping

A:ft> No it is not an issue. The internet is stateless, so the site does not care if you are loggedin or not. Pages are counted as they are displayed. After 20mins of in-activity the software forgets that you were here.

And thanks Sue for explaining. Is it ok if I quote your expertise on the inner mysteries of the interwebz and google analytics machinations?

I missed most of this thread but I was just wondering what it's like in a dark room with the lights turned on?

No, but you could explain why web traffic figures are NOT deceptive, lol.

(I was only saying that I see plenty of ads on the internet, but have never clicked on any. My presence is, I assume, counted when number of views are told to potential advertisers, but I am of no use to those advertisers.)

It's like the lights are on....but burned out. It's still dark, but you expect more.

You guys are too funny!

Speaking of lights, you know what a hooker and a loose light switch have in common?

They are both easily turned on!

What does a hooker and peanut butter have in common?

They both spread for bread!
Sue: google's ad systems pay for both clicks and views. Display ads and video ads do not need a click for google to charge the advertiser or to generate income for the website publisher where the ads appear. Here's a Vegas analogy:

Let's say Caesars Palace is a website. Caesars can earn money for each person who comes inside the casino to look (page views) and it makes money from each visitor who makes a bet (click).

The problem with web advertising is that you can fudge the view and click stats used by ad agencies who manage the ads. I know one publisher who earns two thou a month from Google but Commission Junction (another ad agency) claims no one views or clicks on its ads.and in two years paid that website only $200 total.
That is basically what I was trying to say earlier as a buyer you just judge your end results and you can ignore all that other crap.
