Hmmm. I see stereotyping of conservatives but no comment on Elliot Spitzer. He did far more than criticize cheating on your spouse, he prosecuted prostitution rings, while he was seeing prostitutes on the side.
Well the whole Ashley Madison thing is about having extra-marital affairs, not prostitution. So as DonDiego might say, why don't you start a whole nother thread about it.

But yeah, Spitzer was a hypocrite for prosecuting people for behavior he engaged in. You can quote me on that new thread too.

Really? Isn't having sex with a prostitute or with someone from an adult website, still cheating? Seriously I have to wonder about your reading comprehension abilities sometimes.

So, your comments about Josh Duggar were an example of you minding your own business about private sexual things and not trying to dictate to others how to behave in that regard?

Not it all. It is about hypocrisy as Forkie mentioned. I think Mr. Duggar said it best himself I have been the biggest hypocrite ever. While espousing faith and family values, I have secretly over the last several years been viewing pornography on the internet and this became a secret addiction and I became unfaithful to my wife…

I decry his hypocrisy and his hubris for working to make laws that restrict other people’s sexual freedom. It is my belief, if he had been brought up in a healthier environment he wouldn’t have most of the problems he does today. I feel deeply for his wife who was brought up in a cult and truly believes this is somehow all her fault.

As to Spitzer, prostitution laws were on the books when he took office and as far as I know he didn’t advocate for a crackdown. He certainly wasn’t known as a “family values” politician before he got in trouble.

Spitzer prosecuted prostitution rings, while he was secretly seeing prostitutes. Do you see the hypocrisy? Is isn't fair to use a broad brush.

No he was a prosecutor. He didn't make the laws. It is no different than cops who speed everyday writing speeding tickets.

Oh it was far more substantial than that. He didn't prosecute hookers, he prosecuted the organizers. He is a liberal who publicly denounced prostitution yet he was banging away every chance he got. The point of this is there are liberals who are just as guilty of denouncing something and then doing it.
I agree with everything that alanleroy wrote here. Well said.

My advice for Democrats and Republicans alike. If you ever find yourself considering cheating on your spouse...don't do it. Either be up front and get some marriage counseling and try to work things out or get a divorce and move on. One or the other.

Cheating is no way to go through life. I don't think it's wrong to view a person negatively for cheating on his or her spouse...because it shows a lack of character....even if they are Democratic cheaters.

Now if you're in one of them there 'Open' relationships where neither spouse cares about sex with other partners, then that's ok too. I just don't think that's very prevalent....compared to the millions who signed up for Ashley Madison.

Ok.

New topic:

So like how many LVA'ers are registered with Rentboy.com, The World's Largest Male Escort Site.

"Federal agents raided the Manhattan headquarters of Rentboy.com as part of a money laundering and state prostitution investigation Tuesday, authorities said.

Seven people, including CEO Jeffrey Hurant, were arrested as part of the raid at the Rentboy.com offices on 14th Street and Fifth Avenue. Department of Homeland Security agents and members of the NYPD, which assisted in the raid, were seen removing boxes from the offices Tuesday.

The site bills itself as "the world's destination to meet the perfect male escort or masseur," and boasts a database of more than 10,500 men in more than 2,100 cities worldwide."

I agree with alanleroy also. Personally, I don't much care what anyone does. Don't misunderstand me. I don't think that intentional behavior that knowingly hurts others is okay. But if another person is not intentionally injured, enjoy yourself. I also think that if you want to sneak around and do things that you know will hurt someone, and you get caught at it, don't come crying to me, or anybody else for that matter. You knew! Suck it up and take it like a two-timer.

Well yeah.

But the act of engaging in cheating or other questionable sexual activity while lecturing others on sexual morality, or even trying to legally restrict the sexual activity of others seems to be a particularly conservative Republican disease.

Does anyone disagree?
