Perhaps you have some graphs that show 'cheating or other questionable sexual activity' is more prevalent among conservative Republicans. It's certainly more hypocritical. But just maybe it's less prevalent. Regardless it wasn't my point. My point was that your political affiliation doesn't matter because it will lead to misery regardless. I never turn threads political, nor do I start political threads. But I thought malibber made a valid point, but he overstated it, and said he should have used the word "tend." So that's what I wrote, and the weaklings who can't argue it are turning to name-calling (see above).

But where do you come off asking me to prove that cheating is more prevalent among conservatives? I never made that claim. My point is that secretly screwing around in various ways while condemning others is pretty much a right-wing thing.

Just because democrats don't often take positions on "family values" doesn't make them any less scumbags when they cheat on their spouses. It makes them slightly less hypocritical. But they still go to church on Sunday and bang some Ashley Madison Ho on Monday. I imagine there are millions of them. As to 'where I come off' questioning whether cheating is more prevalent among Democrats or Republicans...It's because we're talking about scumbags. Whether they are hypocritical scumbags or not is just splitting hairs. I'm guessing it's about equal.

Which is worse:

A hypocritical scumbag who admits their faults without a federal investigations - like Josh Duggar?
OR
A lying scumbag that admits their faults only after DNA evidence in a court of law - like Bill Clinton?

To me - they are both scumbags.

All right Alan let’s assume we have a Democrat and a Republican that want to bang a whore.

The Democratic approach:

1. Bang a whore and suffer whatever consequences come of it.



The Republican approach:

1. Publicly insist that you’re not like other guys that bang whores, and that you would never bang whores.

2. Publicly advocate increased punishment for any guy getting caught banging a whore.

3. Publicly advocate really extreme punishment for the whore (after all it really is her fault) and make sure it is difficult for her to get birth control.

4. Have your wife and children publicity proclaim you’re not the kind of guy that bangs whores.

5. Go home and find a website that promises to provide even a fat middle aged white guy like you a bevy of twenty something attractive young ladies that are willing to have no strings affairs with you, and that nobody will ever find out about it.

6. Pay said website 1000s of dollars and arrange to bang your whore.

7. Bang said whore provided by website pimp, but tell yourself it is different because you’re just helping a poor college girl that needs extra money out.

8. Site gets hacked or the young lady outs you.

Some of us think that when a "family values" hypocrite does it, that makes it a lot worse. It's been said that hypocrites deserve a special place in hell - perhaps literally. Remember what JC had to say about the Pharisees? And derision of hypocrites is a pretty common theme in our culture, from Sinclair Lewis' Elmer Gantry to W. Somerset Maugham's Miss Sadie Thompson to Shakespeare's Measure for Measure and even Tom T. Hall's Harper Valley PTA.

But yeah I get that you are very forgiving of hypocrites. It shows in your politics.

Well either way he/she has broken a spouse's trust, which is the real tragedy in my opinion. There's always plenty of lying involved...so lie to your wife and lie to your neighbors. It's still a lie. It's still wrong.

In fact, I'd guess the vast majority of all Republican or Democrat Adulterers just lie about it until they're caught and it breaks up their marriage. I've seen it happen many times to Democrats and Republicans alike...friends and family. It's not the fancy hypocrite bullshit you and forkush are trying to generalize. It's a simple human tragedy, and to a man, my friends who have done it, all wish they had handled it differently....and that was the simple warning I issued in my original response.

I don't think most Republicans really care about how you like your sex. I wouldn't know for sure since I have never been a Republican and have never seen a study on it. But I certainly don't care. What is easy to see is when someone tries to hang the actions of a few assholes on millions of people who neither cheat nor care if others do. It's call a stereotype....and prejudice.

...Unless: they lecture others on sexual morality, try to shame those who disagree, and even advocate laws to restrict consensual relationships between adults. Then, if they are Newt Gingrich or Bristol Palin or Larry Craig or David Vitter, or any of the others, they deserve all the condemnation we can pile on.

Didn't Josh Duggar admit his wrong doing publicly pretty quickly once accused publicly? And all the rest of your examples? Liberals TEND TO never do this. That makes these people lying scumbags and they are just as bad in my book as hypocrite scumbags.

The Main Street Media also seems to take such glee in exposing conservative people who sleep around.....not so much for liberals - cuz their audience TEND TO BE less interested in the transgressions of Liberals.
