LVH monorail stop to Riviera - is it safe after dark?

Have stayed at LVH plenty of times with Stripview and the walk to the rear entrance of the Riv has always looked pretty desolate. What are my chances of not getting mugged in the early evening?
Probably less safe than in the daytime =) Honestly, I've been told by many Vegas locals (including the bus driver of the Las Vegas Mob Tour) that you should avoid walking on the streets behind the casino's after dark (Koval, Paradise). Having said that, I've done it many times and never felt unsafe - but I am a pretty tall man and I can run fast for a 39 yr old =)

Besides, PJ wears that 1970's polyester look and scares the hell out the bad guys..
I've walked from Sahara to Hilton and back at night. Other than a tent full of revival folks in the remote areas of the Hilton, there was nothing much going on back there. Also walked from Hilton to Riv at night. It seemed safe enough. To put it in perspective, I think Hilton to Riv is safer than Sahara to Strat and I do that walk at night, too.

That said, it something or someone was to put me on alert, I'd have no problem running like a scared chicken in the middle of the road.

LMAO. that walk from Sahara to Strat can be a bitch. I remember a drunken working girl missing my head with a beer bottle by a couple inches about 15 years ago. She did not like my negative response to her proposal.

bayshorebevo's chances would be better if he were packing heat.

DonDiego suggests bayshorebevo contact chefantwon, . . . perhaps he has heard his jingle on AM radio:"Just come with the money honey, and I can get you a gun practially in ANY major city with no questions asked."

if i were a mugger, i would not hang out in a desolate area in hopes that someone might walk by once every other hour or so. waste of time when you could be mugging people in a more populated area.
I think if you are a Tall guy, wearing a Elvis suit you will be ok.

I think you will be safe, you may want to check out the monorail site - see if they have security cameras.

I made this walk in the opposite direction once. Was Downtown real late one night, but was staying at the Hilton and needed to get back. Low on cash by that point, but it was so late that the 108 bus had stopped running. Took the Deuce to the Slots-A-Fun stop. Then cut through the Riveria, out the back entrance, and over to the Hilton.

It is a DESOLATE walk. (And that's just inside the Riveria.)

If memory serves, there is an open convenience store/gas station on the corner right across the street from the Hilton. That is lit up well and helps.

Between the gas station and the Riv's back entrance are a couple of surface lots that look like they belong to the Riv.

You will probably be ok. I didn't see anybody hanging around.

But your antennae will definitely be up.
