Mac King.

In today's question of the day about Mac King there's no mention of him appearing at The Maxim. That's the first place we saw him before seeing him at Harrah's.
Maxim is before my first time in Vegas (2002) when we saw Mac King at Harrah's.
I first saw Mac King at the Maxim in 1998 or 99 and in fact appeared on stage with him helping out with the Cloak of Invisibility gig.
For the last 16-17 years I've been sifting through staggering and numerous offers for my return and the wait may be over.
Stay tuned.
At the Magic Castle, a private club in Hollywood, they used to have auditions to perform in the close-up room at noon on Fridays, and I used to catch the auditions when I would lunch there. The club is adults only, and Mac had just turned 21 when he auditioned. I can't say I remember much about his act, but he was obviously exceptional and very funny.

When I talked to him after the show, he told me his previous gig was selling tricks at a magic shop.

Maxim was the very first place we stayed, that ws back in '99. I don't remember Mac being there but then again we were so enamored with "VEGAS" probably completely missed it.
Ahh..the Maxim. I'll never forget checking in, going to the fifth floor and seeing the orange shag carpet halfway up the hallway walls. Then we opened the doors to our room...WOW. An entire wall wallpapered with a wallpaper mural of the strip from '65. Marquee ads with 1.99 steak and lobster, sammydavis and dean martin, et al. It was actually quite cool to sit and stare at for a awhile. Then we headed back out down the fuzzy walls to the elevators. Walking up the street and seing Vegas for the first time...I was hooked.

I had dinner at the Magic Castle last December. I hadn't been there in over 15 years. The one thing I didn't like over fifteen years ago was the meal. I must say they drastically improved the food.

The magician we watched had been an Iraqi vet and also appeared on America's Got Talent. He was very good.

You haven't been to Vegas in 17 years...or to Mac King in 17 years?

I first saw Mac King at the Maxim. I have seen him at Harrah's once for sure(maybe twice)since.
I haven't performed on stage in 16-17 years, but I'm ready for a return.
Have been to Vegas 10+ times and last year was our first winter living in beautiful Pahrump, A.K.A.-Your Base Camp to Adventure

Agreed, Mac King is a classic.

You're a Pahrumper? I never would have guessed.

Wait, wait, wait. You live in the land of legal brothels and we never knew?
