I just got back from a "bonus" trip on the 26th.Airfare was super cheap out of Maui and had some buddies going to see the Rush concert. Spent 2 nights at Orleans comped, then out to Loew's Lake Las Vegas on Priceline for $80 per night plus $22 in resort fees. Prices for the weekend went nuts because of the Rave out at the racetrack.
Used a $25 Restaurant.com certificate at Hash House A Go Go at IP. I had the CPP and lovely bride had Chix/waffle tower of Yum.
Went to Silverton and signed up for the slot club and got a free buffet and $5 in free slot play. Had the Polynesian dinner that night. It was solid but not spectacular but the price was right. They also gave free mai tais and Blue Hawaiis. Played Pai Gow Poker. Hit 4 10's and got a $75 bonus. We had a lot of fun shopping at Bass Pro Shop. I had never been to one before and bought a hat, shirts and some deck shoes. They had no idea how to make Manhattans.
We also went to M resort for the first time. Beautiful property. Played Pai Gow Poker at $10 per hand. Nice cocktail service for Manhattans. Got a t-shirt for signing up for their club card. My lovely bride got $5 in slot play. I still have my shirt, she doesn't have her $.
My high roller pals had a cabana at Mandalay Bay. But it was a low rent comp cabana without mister. Just a tv and fan so it was still pretty toasty. Buckets of 5 beers were about $35 and they went down really easy in the heat.
Did not gamble at Loew's. Only computer and slot games. Did sign up for club card and got a bottle of wine and a $10 off on a $20 restaurant tab. Rooms were very nice. Hotel charges $22 resort fee. We got free wi fi in the room, daily paper, even on Sunday. Considered a 4 star property on Priceline. Very crowded.
Took my lovely bride downtown. She had never been. She didn't think much of Binion's but liked Golden Nugget. My favorite thing there was the place called The Chocolate Box. That works on a couple of levels, if you know what I mean.
I leave again for LAS on July 7 for annual reunion with 10 Gauchos, Class of '85. 4 nights at Mirage. Two days at the adult pool with cabana for $1000 on Friday and $1500 on Saturday.
So no, you don't suck. Las Vegas is a blast and we should all celebrate those opportunities that anyone gets to go there. Live vicariously through the TR's, if that is all you can do.
