Madcat Vacation Part V- The final chapter

July 21st and could not get my butt outta bed, after way too many cocktails and the bad bottle idea, I could not fathom getting out of the bed until 9AM. Today was Orleans “Thursday Thursday” and if you earn 50 Points you get a six pack of pepsi or diet pepsi and a cooler. We did it last week and Hubby wanted to do it again, so we drove over there and earned 50 Points while ordering some much needed coffee for the morning.

We went home after that and got a change of clothes. We did not know what to do for lunch, so we decided to try out the Dean Martin’s place on none other than Dean Martin drive over there by the Silverton. We went inside and nobody was there, but it seemed like a cool enough place. We met who we believe was the owner and he assured us that business is good. I ordered the Rueben sandwich with pasta salad, Hub ordered the Chicken with red pepper sandwich with fries. It was REALLY good. They told us that everything is made from scratch and I believe it. Give it a whirl and let me know what you think. Looks like a great place to watch sports, with a bar in the middle and the outer part is a more old school restaurant. They serve primarily Italian food and of course bar favorites, nothing fancy by any means.

We drove to the Gold coast to catch another afternoon band. This band was not as good as the Lisa Smith band, and they talked a WHOLE lot in between songs. The best thing I got out of the whole experience was watching these two older women show up in totally crocheted outfits; vests and hats to match. It was like the twilight zone, I got a good giggle out of it. We headed over to the Silverton and played until our Twin Creeks Happy hour. We wanted to try the gas can pull again. My 4th time to play Black Knight and I hit the reels 2,3 and 4 again, but only got about 35 dollars since it is a 20 cent spin.

Hubby got a gas can pull and got 5 dollars in free play- so he went to a dime poker machine, but the air conditioner was blowing right on him so he moved to the one on the end. 1st hand, he held a jack and 4 aces filled in the remaining spots. He won 50 dollars. Dinner is paid for! We head to Twin Creeks and sit in the bar. The server asked our order, I had Sav Blanc and Hub asked for Pinot Noir that happened to be on sale for 50% off. All apps and wells were 50 %. The glass was 8 dollars so you can do the math. We ordered the fondue, (fabulous), stuffed mushrooms, (OK-but small), Meatballs,(really good) and he talked us into trying the Prime rib sliders (awesome). We ordered a second glass, and this time I caved and got what hub got, the great 4 dollar Pinot Noir. He told us that 8-close the happy hour is 75% off. Only 2 dollars for that wine? The apps ranged from 6-10 dollars normal price…so we paid 3- 5 dollars and later on you can pay $1.50-$2.50?????????....now that is some cheap and good eats! We had to get to the RIO for our Platters, Coasters and Marvelettes show. We got our tickets for free at Fill a seat. When we got in they offered a 5 dollar upgrade to the front, but we just kept the same seats. The show was really good, but nobody was there but locals. It was pretty empty, and I do not see them making it. It is a shame because the show is really good. Afterward, we sat at our favorite bank of poker machines and watched the entertainment until we about ran out of our allotted gambling money for the day. It was close to 11 PM so hubby took a walk to a favorite machine and I had about 10 dollars left so I headed to the Nickel triple plays. I played Bonus poker. I played a couple of hands and then I held one Ace and a royal flush filled in the 2nd hand. That is a 200 dollar hit! I was shocked and grabbed my camera. The guy next to me kitty corner asked me what I hit and he walked over and looked. I then cashed out and he said, “You leaving?” and I said “I sure am.” Found the hubby and he was delighted I won most of the gambling budget back from the day. We took the shuttle to Flamingo and crashed.

July 22…the dreaded last day. Well, we went downstairs and ate at the Flamingo café and it was great as always. We paid with our points. We packed up and drove to the house to spend the afternoon with the family. We took the kid to Buffalo Wild wings on Eastern and St Rose Parkway…pretty good. Afterward, the kid showed me his driving skills. He drove around the back streets and I was one proud parent to see that he is learning pretty quickly. We spent the afternoon visiting and then took the kid to get some ice cream at Southpoint. Hubby and I took off for the M for dinner. They have a happy hour in Veloce upstairs and I wanted to have the Sushi. The sushi is a sushi for two and it constitutes a nice dinner. It is only 10 dollars and well worth it. I ordered some foo foo M martini and hub had a Stella Artois. I ordered also a Lemon drop martini. Very good stuff. We headed downstairs to the wine bar once again (Hostile grape) and they had a wine tasting and Rock and Roll wine event with some live music. We had a couple of glasses and listened then went upstairs to play our last casino play. We played those spinner /life of luxury type machines and hubby hit a sapphire for 140 dollars. He was super excited. Soon it was 9:30 and it was time to get to bed. I had to wake at 5 AM to get to the airport to catch my 7 AM flight.
