Major changes on these boards

We are a few days away from launching the redeveloped LasVegasAdvisor.com. The original plan was to eliminate the message boards completely, as the new website allows comments in all areas. But late in the process we decided against that and the new site will have message boards. The late decision, however, required us to make some significant changes.

1. The only way to put the boards on the new site on short notice is to locate them in ShopLVA. This will be temporary and shouldn't affect the user experience.

2. There will be only three categories to start. You can start as many topics as you like, but they will all be in the same spot.

3. For now, at least, there will be no member-only boards; all categories on the boards will be open to all.

4. We will not be migrating content from the current board. Hopefully, we will be able to archive these posts so they will be accessible to read, but that's not a given. So you should make files of the information you want to keep.

These changes may take place as early as March 21. When they do, it's likely that you will be automatically redirected to the new message boards, but if not, you’ll be able to access them at LasVegasAdvisor.com/shop/forums (when activated), or link to the forums in the Member Benefits drop-down menu on the top navigation bar.

Will they load quicker? That would be great.

I hope this rolls out better than the last overhaul. I am happy you kept the forums/message boards I love reading the comments and find much useful info even after so many years in LV.

The title of this thread probably had all the political hacks quivering in their boots thinking that political threads would be prohibited. I know I would have been rejoicing. I know Alan it sucks for me too (lol).

Just as long as Ellenmonster returns.
