Unfortunately, that ain't gonna happen.

It also presumes that by virtue of bipartisanship you eliminate special interest influences....and that might be the biggest obstacle of all to overcome.

Since our political system is so open to corruption from corporate money...and that's not going to change anytime soon... this fight should be pursued by the special interest groups that are corrupting it. I can understand why Pfizer, UNited Health, and providers want to get as much money out of the public as possible. I don't understand why Coca-Cola, 3M, and Ford Motors are content to pay more for their employee benefits. I wish there would be more push from the non-healthcare sector to pursue healthcare cost reduction reforms. It would help their bottom line and mitigate the stranglehold the healthcare lobby has in DC. Put one group of scumbags against the other. It might be the only way.

It would be nice if DT kept the special interest hands out of the equation for at least some of it, that would be great. I honestly believed (and still do, so far) that he wants to do what is/was right for the country. Keeping the corp. whores out of the picture would be such a nice thing, but alas I'm sure it's only a pipe dream.
Some time ago, the wealthy Billy mentioned the name of one of his NYC "clubs". I checked, and it was much more of a townie bar in New Jersey that went belly up years ago. Apparently the term "club" is used more liberally on the East Coast than it is in the Midwest.

Isn't New Jersey considered "flyover country" by the East Coast elites?

Yea, Cliffy is always letting us know how wealthy he is yet part of his income is dependent on AP play and now he's getting subsidy's. Go figger.

Say what?
I've never owned a bar in New Jersey. Never ever. You are obviously mistaken, if not deliberately lying. Given your past animosity, I assume the latter.
Please post your supposed findings. It will be fun destroying them.

I wouldn't be surprised that in real life cliff was a bartender, not the owner.

What was the name of the "club" that you mentioned about two weeks ago? You bragged about "the last time someone called me Little Man, I was escorted so and so out the door".

No, I hardly ever bartended. Started as a bouncer and worked my way up. When I trained under Jack Penrod, he had all his managers work every position from dishwasher to busybody to valet during training. That's the only time I bartended in a club and I realized just how hard it was.
Back to the actual topic...There should be a real national debate on Healthcare and Health Insurance. All options need to be on the table including fixing the ACA, moving to Single Payer and free market plans. There was NEVER A REAL NATIONAL DEBATE on the ACA and the alternatives. Hopefully some kind of real consensus could come out of that process. Maybe that could get the politicians working together on it. I'd take a whole year to do it with milestones including a non binding national referendum.
Shits getting weird(er) around here.

Don't hold your breath.

Politically, here is the big lesson from the ACA. It takes a great deal of political capitol to overhaul the healthcare system. Regardless of what ideology you have you will face massive backlash from people on the other side...and even from the middle. Big change is scary to most people and its easy for opponents take advantage of that.

Healthcare reform has been a pillar of the Democratic party for decades...so they were willing to deal with that backlash. I doubt very much that Republicans give enough priority to Healthcare Reform to suffer the consequences of messing with it. They'll take that hit on tax reform - but not healthcare reform IMO. They have a very strong mandate to repeal Obamacare - but the lack of any replacement plan demonstrates the mandate and priority they have on that front.

I have no clue what healthcare looks like a year from now but I don't have any optimism of it getting better.

Yes, I take subsidies, just like Donald Trump. I thought you defended his right to do so.
The law says the only thing that counts is your taxable income. Don't you believe in following the law?
Part of my income comes from AP play because I enjoy playing in casinos, not because I need the money. I didn't move to Vegas to make a living. I moved here because I enjoy playing.
