Mandalay Bay agrees to $500K fine in drug sting

The Mandalay Bay casino got caught with their pants down and has to pay a half-million-dollar fine that employees provided prostitutes and drugs to undercover officers. Yikes!

This story is somewhat confusing.

Were drugs and prostitutes offered to patrons of the House of Blues Foundation Room as extra things they could illegally purchase, or were they offered with the plan of obtaining something in exchange?

It is pretty easy to spot prostitutes at the lounge bars not only for the Mandalay Bay but at virtually every casino lounge bar. As long as they don't appear to be underaged, the casinos seem to tolerate them.

Mandalay Bay employees were the middle men between the hookers/drugs and customers....so Mandalay bay is responisbile. I wonder what the punishment for the individuals is. Sounds like some pimps just took a low level job at Mandalay Bay so they could market their products.

I was thinking about joining the Foundation Room over ten years ago. It isn't as big of a deal today as it was back then. Back then the annual fee was $2,000, of which I believe you could take a $500 charitable deduction. I don't go up to Vegas enough to warrant joining.
