If anyone is truly serious about stopping illegals, go after the CEO's and executives that hire them.
Give every company 3 months to purge the illegal workers and get their documents in order. Start doing corporate sweeps, and company that has illeagals working for them the CEO and executives get fined 1 million dollars for each infraction and a year in prison, no exceptions.
The illegal problem would be solved rather quickly after a few of these crooked CEO's and executives are made an example of.
No work = no reason to stay here.
We don't have an illegal problem as much as we have an illegal employer problem. Cut off the head of the snake.
Here's the problem with that. Without E-Verify, there's no way for an Employer to know his workers are illegal. Corporations ARE LEGALLY hiring these people. The problem is those working illegally have stolen the Social Security numbers of real American Workers and they have fake ID's. CEO's can't question an employee's identification or social security number....otherwise they'll be sued for discrimination. So without something like E-Verify, how do you propose 'these crooked CEO's and executives are made an example of'?
Of course a lot of the people working here illegally are in the 'Cash Economy'. E-Verify won't do anything about that.
