Manning to Denver? tebow?

Not really think of Herschel Walker. In 1988 Dallas built an offense suited to his strengths and weaknesses. He played seven different positions and rushed for more than 1,500 yards he looked like the best back in Football yet Dallas only won 3 games that year. The next year was the infamous Minnesota trade and Walker only had one decent year (not great) during the rest of his career. He just wasn’t very good without an offense specifically set up just for him and with an offense set-up just for him it wasn't enough to get past .500 or win Superbowls.

Tebow will be a gimmick player for the Jets and that is it. He should have never been a first round pick. That why the guy that drafted him got fired mid-season.

I don't get it. Tebow was a first round pick and played about as well as anyone that knows about football expected him to play. Now, the Jets get him for a 4th round pick. I see the Jets using him in a non-QB role. The guy is too good to sit on the bench.

What he's good for right now is lighting a fire under Mark Sanchez.

Someone stated in an earlier post that Tebow should have been given to the Pats so he could reunite with McDaniel who thought enough of him to put in a first round pick! He did not solely chose Tebow but he agreed with the "then" general manager.

I don't understand Tebow going to the Jets. I think all the Jets are doing is putting themselves in a really really hot seat. Sanchez has had some problems and they are wanting improvement soon. Fans will get divided behind who should be starting and Rex is going to have rough time keeping them quiet. Tebow will maybe get a shot at another position "where" I just don't see him being a RB or WR or TE. Great for your "flag football" team but lacks so much of what makes an RB,WR and TE great. Too much of a learning curve.

Most of us think that is exactly why Denver traded Teblow out so quickly. They wanted to establish Manning as "the guy" and didn't want the distraction of fans/media/everyone else clamoring for timmy every time Manning threw an interception or didn't play well.

we all saw what a sideshow it was last year. the guy is a "gimmick" player. Doesn't help that he has strong religious beliefs and is getting support from the religious nuts, err religious supporters or that he came through a number of times. He will be a distraction anywhere he goes. As someone else said, a team would have to engineer their offense to fit this guy, draft athletes that will work with that particular offense, etc. etc. That is a huge investment as many players, such as O linemen have specific responsibilities and blocking assignments, they will have to learn to adjust to tebow's style, way more difficult than the normal blocking patterns. Tebow is more successful when he ad libs. He stuggles when he is boxed into traditional qb assignments (like dropping back, survey the field and make a pinpoint pass). it would have been only a matter of time before all defenses adjust to him and negate his ad libbing skills as we saw some teams already did.

I also agree, I don't know why the jets would want this freak show. but then lately they seem to be making questionable decisions so this is a continuation of a string of questionable calls. Of course management could have brought him in only because of his ability to fill the seats and make money for the owner. I doubt if he would help the team out in the long run and will cause more qb controversy IMHO. I doubt that any qb would want the controversy of a backup qb like tebow. while some people think he was brought in to push sanchez into performing better, sanchez might think it more a vote of no confidence from management.

Perhaps they might throw him in in goal line situations sometimes, and other times not? Sanchez drives 'em down the field, time out everyone on sidelines. The defense called might not be correct one called as those two are night and day.
Honestly i have no idea what the jets where thinking when they traded for him, i was pretty sure jax once manning went to broncs.

wE'll all see in a few months.
