The Super Fight.
Hard to believe its been forty years since this fight. Nothing in the world of sports has come close to topping this.

I was in the western Pacific aboard a Navy destroyer listening to the fight. I personally loved the outcome- Frazier knocking the draft dodging Cassius Clay/ Muhammad Ali on his _ss and winning the fight. I had bet another sailor a case of beer that Frazier would win. I am still owed that case of beer. I have always respected Frazier and the way he handled himself amid the cruel taunts from Clay/Ali. I never will understand the love affair the world has for the coward Clay/ Ali. He mouthed off for all to hear that he was "the Greatest", until his country needed him - then he hid behind religion so that he could stay home, safe, while others did their part when their (his) country called. Yes, Billryan, it is hard to believe that 40 years have passed since justice was served.

I was hanging out with Joe last year. It is a shame he's not all there mentally but he's still mad at Ali.

Actually Joe is one hell of alot more there mentally than Ali is.

I never met Ali so I can't say who is more there mentally. Joe was nice enough but I felt bad for him as he has a little trouble walking and his speech is very slurred.

I was at at Madison Square Garden that night...in the bowling lanes under the arena...it was a bitch getting into the building.

John Wayne's country didn't need him, I suppose.

i remember i was 15 and saved the (i think) $12.00 to buy a ticket for the closed circuit showing at an arena here in FRESNO. it was a great fight and a great nite.!!!!!!
