match play coupon question

So my husband and I are in Vegas now! We both have MRB's and ACG.
We started a coupon run Downtown. We aren't really sure how the match plays work.
My husband was a new to the D so he went and got his players card and
presented them the matchplay coupon from ACG.He put the $25 match play coupon and $25 cash
on black at roulett. I thought that was like putting $50 on black so he would have won $100.
He was paid $75. So is the match play just an extra $25 in winnings?

I want to use more match plays but not really comfortable doing it. Any suggestion??
Matchplay coupons can seem to have a misleading value.

When a $25 matchplay coupon wins, it turns into $25, not $50. So your husband was paid correctly: the coupon turned into $25, his cash wager won him $25, and his $25 chip was returned, for a total of $75 ($50 in winnings). Congrats!
The matchplay coupon doubles the amount of the payoff, so if you win a $10 (even money) bet with a matchplay coupon, you are paid $20, $10 for the regular bet & $10 for the coupon.

When I started using these coupons, I used them to play blackjack. But I found it was "bad for me," because it was like I was trying to beat them at their own game. I have switched to roulette, and I'm happy with that.

You just need to understand that it's a marketing gimmick and everyone is OK with the fact that you use the coupons. In the long run, you will get a payout from the casino of roughly half the face value of each coupon you play. But you'll still have losing streaks where you lose the bet over and over. And that could make you feel like you get nothing

Thanks that makes me feel better! We will try and use more today and see what happens!
Ahhh..another matchplay junkie. Welcome to the club.

I don't know that I'd call them a junkie for using a $25 MP at a downtown casino. If they start using $5-10 MPs at Lucky Nugget Silver 7s Strike casino in NLV that nobody(other than all the local felons) has ever heard of then you could call them a MP junkie.
