McDonalds tells employees to enroll in Food Stamps...

McDonalds tells employees to enroll in Food Stamps, Get Federal Home Heating Assistance and apply for Medicaid.

Linky

I always get a kick out it when people say we can't raise minimum wage because it will make the cost of their Big Mac go up.
Obamacare will force many, many other businesses to follow McDonalds lead. Just "more change you can believe in". Stay tuned, it will get worse.
Its un-American to tell employers to pay their workers enough to survive. ANd its super-duper un-American to have the government provide survival benefits to low income workers.

So The only truly American solution to the problem is for these workers to buy a lottery ticket and hope for the best.
Any Economist worth his/her salt will tell you that Growth is the answer to most of our economic woes. Too bad there just hasn't been any for 5+ years. Sure the unemployment rate has come down from the high 7% range to the low 7% range, but the labor participation rate is at all time lows......that is not growth. The only thing that has grown had been Federal spending - this is until the sequester finally force the government to slow the growth rate of spending.....

Also what is a "fair wage" .... I was taught it was what the market will bear. If Nancy is such a great employee with such great skills, shouldn't she find a job somewhere else? Maybe Wendy's or Burger King? Oh - I forgot there aren't any jobs because the government regulations (AKA ObamaCare) are killing growth. The current administration is getting exactly what they want - a whole class of people totally dependent upon the government with no way to take care of themselves. This will keep them in power for years....

Corporate profits are growing at record levels...

...but wages are not keeping pace...

...especially for minimum wage workers, in spite of increased productivity.

Fixed. --number51- now go ahead and apply your method to "fix" Obamacare.
Drmilled's definition of BS: Published statistics
The best measure of economic growth is GDP which for the first half is less than 2%; which represents the slowest post recession recovery ever.

As long as the U6 rate hovers around 15% and the employment participation rate is in the low 60's wages will remain low. Wages will grow when there are more jobs and less unemployes
