Medical Problems While in Las Vegas

I'm curious if anyone has had a Medical problem serious enough to require a Dr. or a trip to a hospital while visiting Las Vegas.

I was lucky and had serious back problems that flared up the day after I got back from Las Vegas, and I spent the next 2 weeks flat on my back unable to sit or be on my feet for more than a minute at a time. But at least I was home when it happened.

I'm not sure what I would have done if my back problems would have happened a day earlier. I was not serious enough to be in the hospital and was on the trip by myself.

Do any of the Hotels have Drs. on call for medical problems not serious enough for a ambulance?

Any suggestions on how to deal with a Medical issue while in Las Vegas?
I have heard about doctors making hotel calls in vegas, and in fact, once saw a billboard advertising that same thing. It would depend on the severity of my illness. I know there are many walk in centers for minor things. For anything that could be major, I would just head to the hospital.
The best medical attention I ever received was in Vegas.

She had a curious advertising campaign - fiendly Latino gentleman handed out her card outside of Bally's. I confess she was a little expensive ...but she had the convenience of 24 hour availability and hourly rates. My ailment was straightened out in no time.
With all the blue hairs in Vegas there are lots of medical facilities around... you got Medicare?

I did visit the Harmon medical center last year. They got me in fast and even had pharmacist on site.

It is located just off the strip on Harmon Ave....next to PH
Many years ago, I had a sinus infection while in Vegas. Couldn't breathe through my nose at all. I called the front desk at our hotel (the Frontier) and they called a doctor from one of those companies that sends doctors to hotels. He gave me medication (antibiotics and a prescription decongestant), and I was much better by morning. My health insurance covered the charges.

Nowadays, I would probably go to one of the clinics at CVS or Walgreens. They didn't have those back then.
I seem to recall about ten years ago that the Imperial Palace opened a clinic of some sort, although I haven't heard of it since. I would follow Sue's advice and call the front desk. I'm sure they could direct you accordingly.
As a last resort you could call a cook at the Heart Attack Grill. They're not really Doctors, but they play one at work!

Good Luck!

It is not a hospital, but good for minor things.
My wife and I took my son who is in the Army (in Georgia) for a trip to Las Vegas recently. We stayed at the Golden Nugget
On the day of my LVA member meet he woke up with an issue stemming from a war wound suffered in Iraq. The poor kid was just dying from when he woke up at 6:00am (we were still on east coast time) until about noon when we finally said this should be looked at.
We took him to the valet area and asked where the nearest hospital emergency room or walk in clinic was. We were directed to the Valley Hospital medical Center, 620 shadow Lane, Las Vegas, NV 89106. It took us about 3 to 5 minutes to get there (GPS directed)
We went in and he was seen very fast(less than 10 minutes). We were told he would be treated for a few to 4 hours so my wife and I jumped back in the rental car and drove around just to kill time while my son was being treated.
Ok....finally to the point
While we were driving around we were amazed that for a mile in each direction around the walk in clinic that we were originally directed to had doctor office signs covering pretty much every malady that I could think of! (intermittently filled in with a lawyers office), eye doctors, vein doctors, and many walk in clinics. It was almost like Las Vegas zoned it this way??
I cannot recommend any single clinic or doctor, but I am sure if you get something in Las Vegas and your on Fremont Street, you are only minutes away from help!
My son was treated and released that day, and although that particular day was lost for him as he was extremely drugged up, the rest of the trip was saved.

Wife and I were playing blackjack in Terribles one evening. She had a sudden onset of excruciating pain in her ear. Pit Boss called a hotel Doctor for us. Doctor said he could come out but his fee would be $300, he recommended we go to an immediate care clinic. We ended up at Harmon medical clinic. All ended well.
