I still like their Egg McMuffin, especially the eggwhite one.
A gal was interviewed on TV the other day. She was bit**ing that she works at Walmart and what scumbags they are because "they should be paying me more."

The interviewer very kindly asked "Well, if you feel that way, why not go to work somewhere else?" To which the lovely thing said "I can't find a job anywhere else."

I do not understand the venom toward Walmart (and for that matter toward McDonalds) by people who don't work there. Is there something wrong with lower prices? Are the Burger King hamburgers made from cows which are treated better? I'm obviously misinformed.
- Stay on top of your financial debt by returning your Christmas gifts
- Fool your stomach into not being hungry by cutting your food into smaller bites
- Don't complain so much. Complaining causes stress.

"derp, I like the food"

It is my understanding that sign spinners or twirlers are upset that they are not being paid a living wage nor do they get health care benefits.

Misinformed? No. But you do present a false choice between higher wages and lower prices.

Walmart can give all its employees a big raise without raising any prices
"•Walmart spent $7.6 billion last year to buy back shares of its own stock. The buybacks did nothing to boost Walmart’s productivity or bottom line. If these funds were redirected to Walmart’s low-wage workers, they would each see a raise of $5.83 an hour."

I think walmart investors were glad to see them buy back the shares because this helped the stock price and probably helped out PJ's pension fund --- because I'm sure PJ owns some mutual fund that owns WalMart shares. If PJ thinks WalMart workers need a raise, he should not visit WalMart, not Invest in Mutal funds that own WalMart, and give tips to WalMart workers he feels to be deserving of more.

I have great admiration for WalMart and McDonalds workers because they are at least working instead of collecting disability as so many have chosen to do:

Disability Fund To Be Deploeted by 2016

However, in a capitalistic society, supply and demand will dictate wages. Sure, we can pay WalMart workers double, however your cost of living would skyrocket due to inflation. Who gets hurt by inflation, the people making less money and the elderly on fixed incomes.

PJ is like Oprah apparently, he just wants the old people to die.
While I think WM could pay employees a bit more to employees, it's not up to me. They've become a very successful co. w/o my opinions so I'll keep them to myself. Maybe if everyone that has a problem with them write a letter to the BOD and state your complaints.

Personally, if I never step foot in another WM ,that'll suit me just fine. I can't stand the stores and prefer Target for any mega store purchases, which for us is a once a month stop for cleaning supplies, sundries and such. Food lion and Harris Teeter are mmy grocery stops because they are close by and suit me fine. I beleive on line stores (big fan of Amazon) satisfy all other purchases, ESPECIALLY this time of year. To hell with that black friday shopping bullshit, I saw there's a few idiots camped out around here already.{head shake}

The people who complain the most about their lot in life are the same people who exert the least amount of effort to improve their lives - therein lies the crux of the problems in America.

The unregulated free markets' history on wages is very well documented in both our country and others. America once had the capitalist Utopia you speak of where supply-n-demand had sweatshops working people 70 hours a week for pennies a day....and you can see that same dynamic in many parts of Asia today. Im sure the little kids working at Nike factories in Thailand share your enthusiasm for unregulated capitalism.

Oh, and im. Not the least bit concerned about Walmart's shareholders being able to put food on the table. The aires of the Walmart family fortune have the same amount of wealth as the bottom 40% of the US population. Starting salaries at Costco are $14 an hour and yet amazingly their stock and shareholder base have not suffered the apocalyptic catastrophe you describe. Meanwhile taxpayers give Walmart workers Foodstamps because their employer pays peanuts.

There are real facts at play here that can be empirically measured without ideological speculation.
