MGM parking starts today

Shouldn't be long before we see what effect it has on neighboring, free parking areas....and what it does to MGM general attendance. I'm predicting (hoping) this is a short-lived experiment that will go down in flames. Lets see what feedback comes out in the next couple weeks.
Curious how the TI will handle this as they are next door to the Mirage & connected by a tram

Don't forget the Cosmo, which is near City Center (Aria, Vdara, etc.) and Bellagio. Caesars is near Bellagio and Mirage. Tropicana is near MGM, NYNY, Excalbur, Luxor, and Mandalay Bay.

I don't know what they can do to prevent people from parking and walking to an MGM property.

There are going to be many tourists who didn't hear about the parking fees, who will probably enter the complex and go ahead and pay (even though the first hour is free).

It will take some time to see if any kind of a boycott has any effect on business.

I know for one thing, they are not getting my business.

I do like Charlie Palmer's steak house at the Four Seasons. Even though the Four Seasons is part of the Mandalay Bay, I don't know if they will be charging for parking.
I'm surprised no one has commented on locals needing to scan their license to access the lots. What's MGM going to do with that database?

I like all the pretty parking lights at Mandalay Bay. They have very cool LED arrows, new paint.....what more should I expect for $10.00 per day ?
Oh Yeah - where the heck was the exit sign. I was driving around for 15 minutes trying to get out.
I have not and will not be going to any mgm property and have not since the announcement. I have had tourist company non stop since February and have 2 different families coming this weekend. I will continue to not take them anywhere near a mgm property. And they are all players and we play probably 12 hours a day when I have company. I have entertained 22 tourist since February. Not to mention our own personal time. I will not be bound to one casino and not be able to casino hop and go as we please with leisure and comfort, be unable to dine, play and watch shows on a leisure schedule. Sometimes a person is coming in for a show, but not playing that two hours. We also go to many properties and play wherever is pleasurable and is letting us play. Show tickets and drink prices are double to triple other places and anyone stepping into a casino property is spending money at these properties as they are isolated from other businesses. Use you wallet to do your talking. Boycott.
Just a couple of notes here:

This is from poster Dave Freeman on the boycott MGM page. Of course none of it is verifiable.

Well it has begun. Valets have told me that their tips have been reduced by 40%. All of their up car money is being taken also. Sp+ now sets the price. $40 on weekdays and $60 on weekends. if some one pays then it is split 3 ways. MGM gets $20 or $30 depending on the day. Sp+ takes half of that $10 or $15 which leaves the valet with $10 or $15 which is supposed to be on their check via commission which of course is taxed Disgusting!!!

On another note. Here is a story about recent insider trading, whereby certain directors of MGM International have sold off blocks of their stock recently. I wonder if there is anything to read into this?

Any thing to read into this???? WELL,YEAH!!! Rats are the first ones off a sinking ship.

ay

The person who composed this piece probably flunked English Comp I.

Not that it has anything to do with the subject, but poorly written stuff like that...I stop reading.
Not understanding the "disgusting" part because the tips are taxed. They're supposed to be taxed.
