Here is some of what I was e-mailed from MRI. There is much more.
Nevada residents, Free self-parking for 24 hours until 12/19/16.
Self-parking is complimentary for all mLife Pearl, Gold, Platinum, and NOIR.
Self-parking and Valet parking is complimentary for Gold, Platinum, and NOIR.
Registered guests at any MRI hotel have complimentary parking through 11:59 day of departure. Includes in and out parking at all MRI hotels during hotel stay.
Short term self-parking free for up to one hour for anyone.
After first hour, up to 4 hours is $7 at Bellagio, Aria etc.
Up to 24 hours is $10.
Additional days $10/ day.
Cheaper at Monte Carlo, NYNY, etc.
Valet at Bellagio/Aria etc. without mLife card 0-4 hours is $13; 4-24 hours $18; $18 hrs/each additional day. No free 1 hour Valet (except Gold, Plat, NOIR).
All depends on capacity, and some deals not effective during special events.
I got this info (and more)in an e-mail from MRI.
Everyone with an MLife account should get the same or similar e-mail. Otherwise I can forward it, as it has a lot of information depending on your MLife status an/or non-status, and I could have miss-stated some of the information. PM me your e-mail address and I'll forward what I got.
Those rates would be reasonable in Manhattan, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, but we are talking Vegas, where nothing is the same as those other cities, including hotel rates and parking.
Their excuse that they want to give the public state of the art parking is pure bullshit. They want the money to raise capital to build a parking structure behind the Excalibur, instead of floating another junk bond. The structure will be intended for the new Arena and there will be a planned overhead walkway over Tropicana Ave.
I can understand charging people for parking for an event at the arena, because they are taking spaces from people who want to stay at the hotel, or who want to gamble, shop, or dine at the hotel. That is the only sympathy I have for them.
I'm not going to contribute to them, and I hope enough people boycott that it affects their bottom line and they have to make a decision to cease it.
