MGM Players Club complaint letter

42 days til mgm for me!! love the lazy river.

now onto your situation man that blows, im such a low roller i rarely have any contact with any comp desks but if I had an encounter like that man that would chap my ass....
I have 25 years of Vegas experience, and I've never encountered a rude person in a slot club. Maybe I've been lucky. Of course, I've never gone up to a slot club counter with an attitude, nor have I gone after closing time. I've found that you "catch more flies with honey than vinegar," so I'm always very nice to the often overworked employees and chat with them a bit to "warm them up." It's not their fault if they're short-handed, so I try to show sympathy. This usually gets me what I want, and with a smile.

Funny you posted this. ... I had the most bizarre experience with a pit boss at Paris last week. ... Trying to decide if I should write a letter, put it in a trip report or let it go.

Personally, I have never had good results with "this place sucks and I'll never be back."

Ya that one doesn't work when millions of people walk through the front door every month.

It's like people who complain about poor VP paytables and yet they still continue to play them.
"Attract more bees with honey than vinegar?" Thanx for yet another platitude, Sue. I'd hate to break it to you but some people who have a pulse get angry when they feel they've been mistreated, and maybe if the casinos did more to rectify the situation instead of instinctively tossing the customer out, they wouldn't be in the dire financial situation they're in today.
All I said was that I have no personal experience with any mistreatment by casino employees, nor have I witnessed any. I believe it's because I'm always polite and friendly to the employees, who respond in kind. I can't recall ever requesting anything and being turned down. Getting angry gets you nothing.

P.S. Sometimes platitudes become platitudes because they're true.
Well I also hate the MGM Grand. First of all, their players club kiosk ALWAYS has a long line and is understaffed.

Secondly, they banned me from throwing dice there after I cost them a lot of money. LOL

I havent been back in several years.

Your letter was too cordial.

You should have simply said "I was treated rudely, threatened, told I would be removed from the property by security, and I am not coming back."

Then you wait to see how they respond.

By telling them how to "cure" the problem, you lost your bargaining opportunity.

When Bellagio banned me from the craps tables, I simply called my host who got a manager on the phone and I said to them "what are you going to do about it?"

And that's when they offered me the world. But I still never went back there either.

Sue,

"This player's club sucks and I will never be back" That is a swear? That is grounds to be removed from a casino? I highly doubt that is the policy as the Casino Operations manager on duty agreed with me. I think there are alot harsher words said in a casino then the sinful "sucks" word. Honestly when I said I was pissed because this always happens there. One after another, too many to count, rude casino workers at the MGM. On a side note Sue I am from Toledo, Ohio and have gone to Vegas 15-20 times and I am 31. I have never had a positive experience it seems in Las Vegas. Las Vegas has some of the rudest people in the word. This includes Casino employees and residents. I have been on and miles away from the strip and it's the same...rude..rude...rude I live close to Detroit, Michigan and there are 3 casinos in the city. I have been going to Detroit casino's for years and have never had a problem. A+ food... always pleasant employee's, and they bend over backwards to make your experience excellant. I am second guessing anymore trips to Las Vegas when I have a mini Las Vegas about an hour from home... I know you works for the players club but not all casino's are like yours....

You are a small fish in Vegas and made a big deal when you could not get special favors. Get over it. I very rarely get rude service in Vegas. It is you!
Brad

You're quite right, Brad. And while I agree that "sucks" is not a "swear word" per se, a person who makes a statement such as that will cause the ears of the casino employee to perk up. He will be seen as someone who potentially could become abusive if the situation is not resolved or diffused quickly. Casino personnel are very careful to watch guests who exhibit negative attitudes, to be sure nothing ugly happens.
