MGM Players Club complaint letter

No. You have to grit your teeth and realize that there are many places the surly customer can go for their lemonade. Take care of ALL of your customers or lose them. Now excuse me while I attempt to make lemons into lemonade before it rains in the northeast again. Opps. Too late.

I only take care of the nice customers at my lemonade stand. I make the loser surly customers go harass my competitors. They spend all their time dealing with the assholes while I'm raking in the big bucks helping the nice folks. I love the lemonade business.

You know, the thing is, with the economy the way it is and all....your best play is to take your business to their competitor and punish MGM by never spending money there or at any of their other properties.

I have a revolving line of credit from Citi corp. I was late by 1 day on one payment because the payment notice did not arrive by mail as usual and this particular line of credit does not have online payment options. So I called in the day after it was due(I thought it was due the 20th, it was actually due the 16th) and was told I was late. Even after pleading on the phone and writting a detailed, polite letter, Citi still charged me a late fee and raised the rate on the outstanding balance by 8%.

So here is the punishment Citi will recieve.....I have two credit cards with them. One with a $90K limit, and another with a $27K limit. The line of credit will be payed off immediately, earning them no money. The two credit cards will be cancelled. Credit score is meaningless to me at this point. I make near a six figure salary and will likely make significantly more than that in the future. It's next to impossible that I will lose my job and I'm only 36 years old.

I was likely worth thousands of dollars if not more to Citicorp. This is the first late payment I've had on anything in over a decade. But because of their short sightedness, they lose a customer for life, and one that will go to their competitors.

This practice (jacking the rate based on a single past due payment) will become illegal in Feb 2010. Not that it helps you now.

I'm totally on your side Brad. Furthermore I think there are posters here who clearly worship at the alter of the big casino companies. To them, criticizing an MGM property or a Harrah's property or even a Station property is heresy. They all think YOU could have done something different- well excuse me but as the customer you either get treated right or you move on to a different place. If I felt truly dissed by MGM, I would avoid every one of their casinos- you don't owe them anything!

How does this square with wanting his comps back?
I hate your casino, your employees all suck, I'll never patronize you again, but could I please have my comps returned to my account?

I was in the niteclub business for many years, and let me tell you, 100% I will take care of the nice customers. I know from experiance that most of your problems arise from a small group of people and eliminating them eliminates most of the problems. I'm not saying the poster falls into this group, just stating that such a group exists.

OK, now I understand the argument: Good customer service is in short supply, so it must be rationed. The good customer service goes to the good customers.

But now you must explain why some people get bad service. It's clear why they don't get good service (there isn't enough to go around), but you must explain the gap in the logic, because not getting good service is not the same as getting bad service.

Does giving bad service somehow increase the amount of good service available? How does pissing on one man help you when the next man approaches?

It teaches the next guy not to be an asshole.
Alan has a point. Back in the dawn of my career, I was working as bouncer/manager of one of my Uncles gin mills. Several drunks were harrasing one of the bar maids. Myself and my fellow bouncer asked them nicely to leave. they objected, using impolite words. I kicked one fellows chair out from under him, reached down and grabbing him by the ankle, proceeded to drag him some sixty feet to the door, where I grabbed him by the belt and flung him into the street. His friends left quite peacefully, after apologizing to the barmaid.
When the next group of patrons came in, we had a previously unavailable table for them. They enjoyed themselves,The barmaid was able to perform her job better with no harrassment, the other patrons could relax with a potentialy explosive situation removed, and I could get back to the work of testing the bartenders abilities at mixology.
A win-win, all around.
I get the feeling this thread might remain on the top shelf for a while......
I was there a week before you (June-12-14), and waited a long time to get the vouchers you are talking about. And once you get them you have to go back to the window to get your free play. Really dumb system they have going there. I live close to several Indian Casinos and they have a system were your free play and comps are added directly to your card so you can either play them or cah them out. (I got $100 free play twice, so it was worth the wait. )

Anyway, I can understand your situation I had a similar expierence at the Excalibur, and I too, wrote a letter. Nothing ever happened! Never got a response back. But this is the funny thing, I went back a month later and the same girl was at the counter and she was the nicest person you can ever meet. Was I nicer this time or was she in a better mood? I don't know! What does this tell about those types of situations?? I don't know either. draw your own conclusions...

Good luck with your complaint I wish you the best.

Ok now I think you are getting a little out of control. There was not any drinking involved.... I guess now I know why you are so bitter. You worked in a redneck bar and dealt with hillbilly people. I am from the NW and we don't act like that. I guess I don't understand Southern folks.
