MGM Players Club complaint letter

"We're understaffed, and it's haaaaaaaaaaaard......WAH."

B.S. - you screw your customers, you lose your customers. I don't have to kiss your ass if I'm your customer. I will be cordial, but if you're not taking care of me to my satisfaction, I will not be cordial for long.

I've had to take on the work of roughly 3 people at my company at the same rate of pay I had before, but I would never, never take it out on our clients.

If a customer is a giant a-hole (we get them in my line of work too) it doesn't mean that I am any less obligated to take care of them. Their money is the same as the money we get from the nice clients.

If it's so damn hard, go get a job as a grave digger, where the clients don't give you any trouble.
Complaints really do work in some cases. The one huge knock against Golden Nugget was that their check in time was ridiculously long and that their people working that counter were humongous jerks. And the complaint was very valid. It's been posted about multiple times on sites like tripadvisor.

So I stayed there this past weekend and saw no line at 5pm on a Friday afternoon. Even though the hotel was sold out. There were 4 check in stations open. I recognized only one of the people working. That person in the past was about the only pleasant employee I've encountered checking in. Seems to me that GN exercised their right to terminate crummy employees and invested in customer service training for their people. I stood in a four person line and was checked into my room within 5 minutes.

So sometimes complaining works.

Alan has a point. Back in the dawn of my career, I was working as bouncer/manager of one of my Uncles gin mills. Several drunks were harrasing one of the bar maids. Myself and my fellow bouncer asked them nicely to leave. they objected, using impolite words. I kicked one fellows chair out from under him, reached down and grabbing him by the ankle, proceeded to drag him some sixty feet to the door, where I grabbed him by the belt and flung him into the street. His friends left quite peacefully, after apologizing to the barmaid.
When the next group of patrons came in, we had a previously unavailable table for them. They enjoyed themselves,The barmaid was able to perform her job better with no harrassment, the other patrons could relax with a potentialy explosive situation removed, and I could get back to the work of testing the bartenders abilities at mixology.
A win-win, all around.

Ok now I think you are getting a little out of control. There was not any drinking involved.... I guess now I know why you are so bitter. You worked in a redneck bar and dealt with hillbilly people. I am from the NW and we don't act like that. I guess I don't understand Southern folks.

I always thought billryan was from NY or some such

I guess the point is being missed BIG TIME on this topic.

By no means am I asking people to simply accept bad service and deal with it.

I am saying to use common sense, and try not to be such assholes in daily life.

If you're at a restaurant and you get your order wrong, and you send it back and its wrong again, then finally you get it right, but there is an ass hair in between your pancakes, then you better damn well complain to the manager about it, so they know what is going on, and so they can rectify your situation.

If you go to a rewards center and there is a long line, very near closing time, you are SUPPOSED to either

1- Stand in line with the other idiots to get your precious chicken dick coupon which you're going to lose on anwyays

2- Realize that its a long line, and decide to come back later, or the next day, when the lines might not be so long, and take care of your business later

3- Forget all about it and don't bother with the rewards center

The reason I am taking a stand on this issue, is because it has been an on-going, and reported problem, out here in Las Vegas, and all of us customer service workers have experienced it, or have been affected by it, in some way, shape, or form.

The economy is so shitty out here, and there are lots of tourists coming in with that attitude that they are going to take the casino for all they can get, especially when they just finished losing their entire bankroll at the reel slots, or the mechanical horse game.

They deliberatley, try and start some shit, or humiliate a worker in order to get them to fuck up and say something that they shouldn't say.

When it finally happens... BOOM....mission accomplished, and its now time to call in the manager and make up a story, that makes the person look good and the poor minimum wage worker look like an asshole, and thats when its time to present your list of "what can the casino do for me" shit.

What these people do not realize is that in most cases the unsuspecting worker, might just get fired, all so you can get your free fuckin buffet, or 50 bucks in free slot play.

Most places are getting wise to this little scam, and the management isn't going to give you shit. Especially if you are some low rolling piece of crap, that is obviously trying to get something for nothing.

I am NOT defending the large corp casinos...I do not gamble at Harrah's properties, nor MGM properties, nor anywhere on the strip.

I keep my action local, and I treat customer service folks with respect!! What the fuck kind of world are we living in, where people cannot act civil to one another?

If some one told me "Your valet sucks, I am never coming in here again!" based solely on the fact that there was a long line, guess what I am going to do....?

Common sense should prevail....there is nothing a worker can do, if there are long lines. We do in fact hustle more when there are long lines, but apart from that, there is nothing else we can do to get that 30th car in line up to the front...and that 30th car should know that and not be such a prick when its finally his/her turn!

Thank you,

--Rizzo

And to answer Rizzo's question about-If some one told me "Your valet sucks, I am never coming in here again!" based solely on the fact that there was a long line, guess what I am going to do....?

My answer would be.............."Good-bye." Unless your last name happens to be Maloof, Wynn, or Fertatta.

Perhaps because you have a better memory retention than a goldfish. Yes, I'm from NY, and I'm beginning to see why the Op seems to attract problems- see the Alamo thread for his problem there, as well.. It's always the other peoples fault.

Meanie. This thread sucks and I will never be back
I just had to wait in line behind 30 people at the Gold Coast buffet during my lunch break... BOOO HOOOO HOOO

Guess what I ended up doing?

Was it.....

A- Waited in line until it was finally my turn.

B- Went to the front of the line to tell them that their casino sucked, and I would never go back there again. Boo hooo hooo

C- Decided, that I wasn't that hungry after all and played some quarter 8/5 bonus poker for a little while instead

D- Cruised over to the Palms to visit their tasty buffet instead
