Mike Matusow Blows up

Mike Matusow experiences a rant and meltdown . The press (Poker News) reported it to be a celebration, which it obviously was not. They just wanted to protect Mike from controversy.

Mike Matusow's Blow Up
Huh? Controversy? I thought it was clear to everyone what a complete piece of work he is.
I don't like the guy but if you watch another video of the same thing in real time it's not so bad. He immediately laughs and apologizes. Now, if someone was to do the same exact thing to him....
He's pretty newly sober- it take a lot of time to adjust and become a sober person- he's struggling.
Anger is always the first emotion/feeling that comes out.
His process is slow but it's progress, not perfection.

How about we forgive him so we get the same next time we are caught "acting human"? huh?
good weekend to attempt this

I applaud his decision to get sober. I draw the line when I am asked and expected to forgive bad behavior while this person deals with the results of his choices. He should stay away from others until he has gotten himself under control and is fit to rejoin society. There is no excuse for bad behavior.
My issue is that when the "celebrity" Poker Professional does something like that, it is in effect saying to the amateur, "It's OK to act up" at the poker table.

I see it often in poker rooms, people "acting out" after a "bad beat", emulating a Helmuth, or others.

IMHO, poker rooms really need to get stricter about player behavior, and enforce their rules universally for everyone. Too often the celebrity gets away with their action, but the amateur is asked to take an hour, or a day "off".

Just not right, and definitely not professional. Pro Players should be held to a higher standard!

They make a living PLAYING CARDS!! I agree they should face suspension, and be required to undergo some sort of personality therapy.

But, on the other hand, I disagree with proposed rules that aren't related to behavior during play, e.g. banning sunglasses, disqualification for smoking weed in the Rio parking lot.
I like Mike the Mouth, especially when he is egging Phil Hellmuth on. I've watched almost every one of these guys lose it. Some carry themselves much better than others, but I would think that television loves the outbreaks. Poker can be kind of boring if you don't have some of these personalties.
No question the "outbreaks" lead to better television.

But these "celebrities" than show that it is OK to misbehave, and that is not good for the game.

Too many novices think they can, and should emulate their "heroes" of the felt, to the detriment of everyone else.

From what I saw, its a typical reaction of getting back at someone that has gotten under your skin.

If the Mouth is sober, give him some time to get better. He has one hell of a road to go.

The good thing about detox, you get a chance to get all of the alcohol out of your system without the shakes. Although not knowing anything about what happened, is kinda strange. I went through it and I have no clue as to what happened to 10 days of my life.
