Mitch Guist of "Swamp People" dead at 47

Mitch died of apparent natural causes on Monday. He was 47. He and brother Glen have been a very interesting part of the Swamp family. Mitch was helping a friend work on a houseboat when he had a "seizure" like spell and fell and hit his head. The other man rushed him to shore and attempts to save him failed.

If you watch this series you can see just how unique Glen and Mitch were. Whatever the swamp provided that day, is what they ate that night. He is going to be missed.

He looks like he did some very hard living in those 47 years.

Perhaps that is a statement of clarification. No autopsy required.

I thought he was closer to 70. I guess eating squirrel and the other critters from the swamp plus no medical care really aged him. I really enjoy the show. Good mindless TV watching.

the producers of the show are probably pissed that he didnt die on camera in a dramatic fashion.

sorry but some of the reality shows are trying to make Jerry Springer look like award winning television.

I say, after the first season, and they get old and tired, bring them back for a survivor style show....then you could have swamp people, ax men, flavorflav, ice road truckers, kardashions, fishermen, ozbournes, bachelors, midgets, housewives, and all the rest of them doing thunderdome deathcage matches....now that would be worth watching!!
