More ways for the casinos to eliminate jobs and to tighten expenses - thank the beancounters

I agree with Forkie on his position here.

Vegas has always had corporate bean counters wanting to maximize profits, but now they have better ways of counting the beans. They have precise ways to measure which customers are profitable, and if you're complaining about your share of the comps, that means you're probably not one of them.

Just another reason for me to avoid Las Vegas. I, like Don Diego, remember when Las Vegas was all about gambling, cheap food and cheap vacations.

The thing is it seemed like everyone was happy. The casinos were making money and people would fly from all over the world, even a low roller like me, to have a vacation in Las Vegas. We would come home and tell people yes we lost money but we never paid for a drink and I stayed at Caesars Palace for $49.00 a night with a free buffet everyday.

I have to tell you living in Florida cruising looks better and better.

Thta's really interesting, I know several people who are "cruisers" and you are the first I've evr heard who is an avid gambler while cruising. I really enjoy your gambling/cruising posts.

I just got back from a free five night cruise on Carnival. We were given a free inside and upgraded to a grand suite for an additional $700.00. They gave us free drinks in the casino and a steakhouse dinner for free.

They gambling God's were not nice this time. At least I only used 80% of my gambling budget.

Jatki Florida has its drawbacks but being close to a cruise port is not one of them.

Carnival sent me a notice for one of their Premier cruises. I will be going on this one in January. This is a special cruise reserved for people that like to gamble. I reserved a balcony for a 7 night cruise. With taxes, tips, insurance etc it cost $1500.00 for the two of us but they will give us $1500.00 cash (Ben Franklins) once we go to the casino.

So then you are saying you support the fewer Las Vegas jobs that will take place because of this policy. How liberal of you.

Sweet! What a deal.

We're moving soon but not anywhere close to a cruise port, although we can move anywhere we want.
