Movie & TV Show Music

Is it just me or does anyone else sometime have trouble hearing dialog over the thematic music played during movies or TV shows?
Perhaps you have lost a lot of hearing. Might explain this:

Something people don't realize is that once a person's unemployment benefits run out, they are no longer counted in the unemployment numbers.
Probably the biggest reason people don't realize this is because it's not true. At all.

In the US, an adult is counted as unemployed if they do not have a job, have actively looked for work in the prior 4 weeks, and are currently available for work. It has nothing to do with whether their UI ran out.

Kind of like insurance companies denying all claims figuring most people won't follow up.
No insurance company does this. As evidence, I submit your inability to identify a single insurer that denies all claims, an inability you will now demonstrate.

You don't know what you're talking about.

It messes with my hearing too. Movies more than tv shows.
I also miss the next funny line in a sitcom after the laugh track starts.
I really dislike those.
Lately I've found it more and more difficult to understand (but not hear) dialogue in some scenes in some movies and television programs. I blame this partially on my age, and partially on sloppy sound mixing. Another explanation involves audio issues specific to high definition television. You'll have to ask Mr. Google about that.

I find the crawling tv ads as well the channel logo on the lower right particularly annoying

This thread makes me feel a whole lot better . Seems I am alway's having trouble making out the dialogue, it's almost like the actors are mumbling. Also agree about the on screen station ID's and other crap they have on the screen now, so irritating.

Check the audio setup on your TV. You might find better settings (ie: sports, theater, surround, concert, etc)

Will they ever make a mute button for the music and laughter?
Is that even possible?
