Moving to Vegas, Some Help Please

Looking for some impute from Las Vegas residents. There is a chance that my wife may be transferred to the new Cracker Barrel going in near Silverton casino.
We don't know for sure at this time, however I thought it would be prudent to explore possible living arrangements in case this move does happen.
Understanding she works for Crackle Barrel so she is not making mega bucks and unfortunately I am disable on a fixed income, costs are a main concern.
Also, we are both in our late 50's, so a more quiet and defiantly safe area are also major issues.
A complex with a pool and fitness center would be nice since I use them for therapy for my spinal cord problem.
Average monthly expensive ( utilities, TV etc) estimates are welcome also.
Thank you in advance for any and all help you all may provide!
I'm moving there in less than two weeks. Spent a month in Feb.looking for a place. As I needed 2 bedrooms and a dog park, our needs were different. I did see one bedrooms starting around $600, but they weren't much to speak of. Almost every complex has a pool and small gym. I ended up in Camden Commons, in Henderson, mostly because of the dog park. Many complexes include a mandatory phone/cable/internet package.
Sorry I can't be more helpful. The good news is real estate agents are paid by the owners, not the renters. In NY, it's the opposite.

A friend of mine lived in Camden Commons for many years until recently. She was happy and didn't experience any problems outside of normal apartment living.

Clark County Royal Pages for seniors and those with disabilities. Page 26 lists some subsidized housing, and rent can be based on income.

One of my blackjack friends has lived in Vegas for fifteen years. He's now legally blind which makes counting all but impossible. He applied for assitence from Clark County. They put him on a waiting list for subsidized housing. He was something like 2064 on the list. After a year, he got a postcard saying he was 1800and something on the list.
i'd imagine new residents would wait even longer.
Camden Commons Apts is very close to the airport.
Incoming flights are low and arriving one after another.

Rick
Someone else mentioned that, but I hung around the dog park a couple times at different times of the day and didn't notice a problem.
