Fixed!

This was a local decision that was made by local civic leaders. Anyone who says otherwise is being disingenuous for whatever reason.
You should be embarrassed. Your reliable source is being hunted down - even by the Republicans in Congress.

While I almost never make predictions about this kind of stuff, your source will most likely be sent to prison unless he kills himself first.

About his claim that the city council voted to get the water from the river? Here's the video of that meeting, where the council votes to buy 16 million gallons per day from the Karegnondi Water Authority (at the 2:25 mark), and only supplement that with a small amount of river water in the unlikely case that were necessary. But your source overruled the city leaders and went whole hog for the poisoned water. And then lied about it, expecting ignorant saps to believe him. And hello alanleroy.

So much for your source, huh?

Meanwhile some of the governor's top people knew about the Legionnaire's Disease outbreak about eleven months ago. And said nothing, and did nothing. The governor needs to resign. So far, he's proven to be a lot more dangerous to Americans than ISIS.
Well it turns out Darnell Earley is a Democrat so if you hold him responsible for this mess then so be it...be sure to change your post blaming Republicans to put the blame squarely on the DEMOCRAT who you just claimed singlehandedly screwed up the whole Flint water system.

But alanleroy, just because you are a "centrist" who is the ignorant sap who believed Earley's ridiculous story, that doesn't mean label ALL centrists as being ignorant saps.

And just because you are a centrist who doesn't have the teensy bit of class it would take to admit you were wrong about that story, that doesn't mean that I label ALL centrists as lacking any class.

I am sure there are many centrists who are not ignorant, not saps, and not classless. Maybe you will be one someday.
The Flint water problem has nothing to do with the topic of Muslim terrorists infiltrating Europe and the US under the guise of being refugees. Forky knows that argument is a loser so he invents a new one.

Ohhh that hurts so bad coming from you. I thought we were buddies. But, you can always tell when you're getting into poor little Forky's head. When he's got nothing he'll start slinging shit like 'ignorant, saps, classless, hypocrite, idiot'. I try to rise above the JR High name calling. Sometimes it's tough to not just respond in kind though.

But let's just look at the facts.

1. Forkush accuses 'Republicans' of poisoning Flint Michigan's Water Supply.
2. I correct that to 'bureaucrats'....because this debacle has a wide range of people responsible...Democrats and Republicans. From the Governor's Office to The Flint Mayor and City Council to the EPA to General Motors (Well they were absolved of any responsibility through O'bankruptcy) to the technocrats running the Water Works. But Forkush chooses to limit his smear to his political opposition....as always.
3. He finally chooses to attack my quote of Darnell Earley who points out the Mostly Democratic Flint City Council voted 7-2 to go ahead with that project. He essentially blames Mr. Earley as one of the main causes of Flint's water problems. And then attacks me for quoting Mr. Earley.
4. When I pointed out that Mr. Earley is in fact a lifelong Democrat and Forkie just blamed him for the crisis that he original blamed on 'Republicans' he resorts to name calling.

"Ignorant, Classless Sap?" Well I guess that's better than a Stupid, Dishonest, Lying, Political Hack Poo-Poo head. But I try to stay away from those childish little name calling tantrums.

The only one that doesn't see right through forky is forky. You know he's sunk when the playground name calling comes out. I'm pretty sure he does it just because it's annoying and he wants the subject changed.

Hilarious that he would call someone else classless

Maybe you're just profoundly ignorant about the situation, but the next time you make that claim you'll just be a liar. The council voted to get the water from Lake Huron. Here's the news on that from almost two years ago.

They did. And their best defense is that they were grossly incompetent, but not criminal. However, they have a real problem because after they knew the water was bad, they kept telling people it was safe. That is criminal level liability. They brought in water for state employees stationed in Flint to drink when they were telling the residents it was safe.

They had no choice given Michigan’s emergency manager law as it allows elected officials to be fired if they don’t rubber stamp the emergency manger’s decisions. This is a republican mess. It was born out of a raciest mentality that black citizens can’t elect officials that will manage municipalities appropriately. It is an argument I have heard many times on LVA since 2002. The Republicans took the black voters rights to representation away. Hell the voters overturned the emergency manager law, but the republicans were so cocksure they simply passed it again adding a taxing component to it so it couldn’t be overturned by referendum. The arrogant bastards thought they could do a better job of managing a city that had been de-industrialized through no fault of its elected leaders. Initial estimates show that just to fix the pipes it will cost 1.5 billion dollars. Wrap your mind around how quickly the Republican’s squandered this. That doesn’t even include the costs of lifetime medical care for the 9,000 kids that were poisoned.

Make no mistake about it Alan. This is the perfect illustration of why the conservative approach to government is simply unworkable.

Don't you even read your own articles. Like the final sentence where this LOCAL DECISION required approval for 2 Million Gallons a day from the Flint River. Approval from whom? The Republicans? No. The bureaucrats over at the BUREAU OF ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY. Let's just go back to blaming Democrat Darnell Earley. Ok?

The locals voted to get 11% of their water from the Flint River, but the governor's emergency manager overruled them and went 100% for poison water.

Only liars and the guy who is being hunted down by a congressional committee say it was a local decision.
