QuoteYeah, politicians do things like that. Like when Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, and over a hundred over Congressional Republicans, took credit for federal infrastructure projects that were paid for with Obama's stimulus bill. Does that mean that those Republicans should be held responsible for the infrastructure bill?

And as to whether or not the City Council actually agreed with the switch to Flint River Water months earlier as Earley claimed, these politicians (Including Democrat Mayor Dayne Walling, and "Numerous Elected and City Officials") were most definitely on hand for the ceremony marking the switch to the river water...
If you answer "yes" to that question you're an idiot. If you answer "no," then you're admitting that this point about the Flint mayor is pure dishonesty.
The former flint mayor was up to his eyeballs in this thing. He was no innocent bystander. He encouraged Flint residents to drink the water claiming there was no problem with it. When he was informed by medical professionals about the harm it was doing he claimed switching back would cost too much. He's one of the many officials (democrats and republicans) who's being sued over it.
So disgraced former democrat Mayor Dayne Walling is now your poster boy for an innocent city official? If you answer yes you're an idiot. If you answer no, you're a hypocritical political hack.
And was there ANY evidence or environmental study that the switch to Flint River water was going to poison the people of Flint BEFORE they changed? Did those in charge make this decision against the advice of qualified Environmental or Water Quality Engineers? Or did it just look like a good way to save money and no longer be tied to the City of Detroit?
The real mistake was not treating the water properly at the water treatment plant so it didn't destroy the ancient Flint plumbing. That is a failure of the water engineers and environmental quality bureaucrats. As Dr. Mark Edwards pointed out, the project would have been a success if the DEQ had just done their jobs.
The real CRIME was any cover-up or delay in warning the people of Flint of the danger once the environmental concerns came to light. That is a failure of the Department of Environmental Quality and the EPA and the Public Works department of Flint....and any Government Employee who knew the danger and said nothing. Whoever knew and did nothing should be prosecuted for their Gross Negligence.....Even if it goes all the way up to the Governor or the head of the EPA or the President himself.
