My 15 year bff :(

This is finally what it came to. This has been too stressful and is ruining people's real lives. I am completely sad. My bff invited me out. I initially responded "sounds great", then followed with "forgot I had plans", the I did not feel comfortable lying and said:

Actually I just don't want to hang out with someone who has silenced me, disrespected me and called me names. Thank you for your friendship. I treasured it. But I do not not feel that we are "like minded" right now. I enjoy relationships and people who challenge, promote and accept other opinions with love and respect. Again, thanks for your friendship. Hopefully one day, we can be on the same page again, but I don't feel that is best right Now.

I am completely over our world right now. I do not recognize it.
What is the disagreement about?
Somewhat this political insanity and these marches, but some lingering things as well.
As partisan as I am here, I make it a point not to discuss political stuff with people I work with, went to school with and so on. It just causes too many hard feelings, and a lot of folks can't get past it.

It's not just politics...just the straw that broke the camels back.

It has also been extremely difficult living in a place with the entire community in a different mindset as well. Just feels like a gang mentality, as well as these "women's" marches denying my voice as a "woman". This entire thing has just become one destructive cluster f. I also have been told for two years that I am an "uneducated, white man". Well, no, I am a woman without a penis I promise, I have a degree from a major university and my household income is not poverty level by far. I am just over it all.
Well, I hope you two patch things up. 15 years of friendship is worth saving.
No. She won't respond, thus my finally just saying it and being done.
Thanks, by the way

I try.
Just move on. Your life is like river. Streams join and depart.
There are a LOT of water out there. Full of friendly fishes.
You may eventually find your perfect match. No need to get legally married.
Perhaps I was missing your point. You broke up.
