My 15 year bff :(

I never know what half the remarks on here mean. Sorry. Yes, we were basically sisters. I guess time will tell if we are really a family or not, but that is why I held my tongue. I am from a large family and know how to work through family discord. She not so much. I knew and didn't want her to respond actuallly. I don't want to say much more, but just trying to get the world to see, and if that is you bunch of crazies, then so be it This mania is affecting real lives.

Y'all are at least helpful to vent my frustration and this has been difficult. So I thank you. This stuff has been obviously affecting my relations for months and while it is about politics it is about who people are as people.

Actually I just don't want to hang out with someone who has silenced me, disrespected me and called me names.

Perhaps a person who silences one, disrespects one, and calls one names isn't really a friend.

On the other hand, . . . all DonDiego's friends silence him, disrespect him, and call him names, . . . although some of them only do so occasionally.

Life can be a puzzlement sometimes.

this kind of stuff is happening to a lot of people these days. politics have always been divisive. what makes it so different recently, is that so many on the right have finally grown some balls and took a stand. while I have not quite said goodbye to some of my friends, I have distanced myself because I don't want to listen to them spew their political puke. I did tell one of my friends "you have been a good friend and you have been a shitty friend". it is what it is.. I have had "friends" send me text messages with passive aggressive political jabs. I usually don't respond, but a few times I have. I said something like "my 401k has gone up $xx,xxx since election day". I usually hear crickets after that. its all good. sorry to ramble, I do hope you and your friend can iron things out.
Thanks, yes, I realize it wasn't friendship, thus my actions. But we had become more of a family and families have turmoil and disagreements. Thanks for the words, they are helpful. I don't want to say too much publicly.

Obviously, to have sustained a relationship for that long, it had much love and loyalty and for that I am grateful.

You are correct. I was taught in church to let my light shine and let my actions shine and not my words. I was also taught not to knock on doors, but to rather have your door open for any that would like to break bread. This is not how today's world works. It led to silencing and disrespect of me as a person and I was no longer willing to be silent in that.
I gotta say that NOTHING lasts forever.

I have only one buddy that I have known and enjoy HIS company for 40+ years.
All others have gone away or I must have given the body language that they understand.
Life to is too short to have crappy"friends" or even siblings.
I can choose my friends, not my brothers or sisters and they don't automatically have to be my friend.NO WAY.
I'm sorry for your loss Daisy. I've thought some on and off about your pot and figured I would go ahead and finally repond. This world has gone completely mad over this whole election, one side just can't handle it, which is n't anything new, there's been sour grapes before but never to this extent and it's too bad, no sad really. I'm nopt sure if I'm getting a little older, a little more cynical or whatever but one side vehemently claiming "I'm right, you're wrong!!" and absolutely beleiving it isn't entirely new but the entire shutting down of opposing thought/speech is really something unheard of. That's always been sacrosanct and that's the absolute most sickening thing to me.

The few times I get on FB anymore, there's alway's the same people, day after day, hour after hour posting nothing but negative ANYTHING on DT and his admin, true or not, they're posting it. I stand back and all I can think is what an incredible waste of time and energy this is.

The women and immigrant marches..just more wasted time and energy IMO. They'll accomplish the same thing the marches/protests against Obama did. Nothing. The women's march itself was a complete joke as it was, it had very little to do with womens rights at all, it was nothing more than a DT hatefest and protest because the hill didn't win, not a thing more than that.

We live in a topsy turvy world right now a time where common sense and right from wrong have all become blurred in a huge morass of politically correct/no person shall be offended/every single person is equal/a singularly homogeneous society where genitalia doesn't exist and evryone looks the exact same. Gone are the days of innocent childhood games like cops and robbers or cowboys and indians, now a kid gets expelled for chewing a pop tart into the shape of a gun. People are actually battling over whethrer they are a BOY OR A GIRL and which bathroom to use.

Today's society is so screwed up and the complete loss of simple common sense seems to be a big culprit. Yea, yea, I know some issues are more complex than others and there's underlying issues but things have been made much more complex than they actually are.
Thank you for your kindness. That is a hard find these days. Lol. I am dealing. Glad you were able to get some things off your chest as well. I think I had two friends here that voted for trump and all the rest were Hillary. Funny though, my brother and his wife were venting the other day over the negativity too, but acknowledged at least it was only the news and Facebook and not my situation. I've never seen such hatred in our culture. It is unhealthy.

I'm over this topic at the moment, just nothing left to say, but oddly they had a pbs documentary displayed at the library on Elizabeth cady Stanton and Susan b Anthony. The "labels" keep saying otherwise, but although I took several women's studies classes as electives in college, I watched this two hour feature alone and then with my husband. If I can't educate these women on the movement might as well take the opportunity to make my husband watch it And I just really wanted to remind myself that we did indeed already win the vote. We did elect a bLack man president and Hillary had two opportunities to win and nobody trusts her or thinks her capable. It had nothing to do with sex. She was the favored candidate to win. Both times really.

Like any other thing in life....keep on, keeping on. I guess I always said my vote was to tell Washington no more. Here is a message loud and clear. My vote was to send chaos and shock and awe. Give us qualified, ethical leaders or lose your jobs. But I would not be backdoored into a bad candidate. I do think trump is a true patriot and great business man, but he wasn't qualified for this. But I would rather him do what he is doing than continue to play in our broken set of rules the politicians created for themselves.

I'm trying to take a break from this stuff. I've taken up cribbage. Fun game. I recommend it
Actually more and more each day my prayers and gratitude is with the trump family. They did not need this struggle in their life. They are doing The most patriot service any person or family has ever done. They did not need the money or the fame. This is costing them physically and emotionally I am sure. To have this great weight of the world on your shoulders and to deal with this type of hatred and animosity and still stand for what you believe in without backing down. They have won my admiration and respect for sure. They have the money and connections to do whatever they want for the rest of their days on some beach, ritzy city hotel or African safari. They are all paying a price that no other person would pay and they are doing it for their father and their country. That is character and strength. No one would willingly agree to this walk if not called by a greater purpose. I hope they know that.
Very nicely done!
