My Farewell Year - Final

Yes I remember the problems with the bikers. That all makes sense. Thanks Bill.
As always, thanks for the report. As sorry as I am to see your regular TRs go, I'm glad to see your new gaming direction. I've enjoyed your 7 Stars and previous Diamond reports for years. I'm a committed low roller who was able to "enjoy the comps" through your reports. I also enjoyed the reports from your dime VP days at Sam's Town in the early years. I always came away from your Diamond and especially the 7 Stars reports, feeling that you were pushing yourself to meet "quotas." I sensed you weren't enjoying the experience as much as your earlier years. I'm glad to hear you'll stay where you want to stay and play where you'll want to play. I'm sure you'll be happier. Of course, you all ready know that. I wish you well on your new direction and look forward to new reports.

Good Luck!

I've lways enjoyed reading your reports. I'll miss them.

Insider news says that Caesar's will be close behind in instituting the parking fee.

Overhead a conversation at the Diamond Lounge this past week--a 7* had reservations at Caesar's and asked to be upgraded to the newly remodeled Julius Tower. She was told there would be a $40 charge per night. Not a happy camper.

After the incident at Bike Week about ten years ago, all the casinos in Vegas have banned anyone wearing biker colors. I believe the 'soft colors' would refer to sweatshirts with the bike gangs logo on it. If you watched Son of Anarchy, they would often wear hoodies with a smaller logo after they were out on bail.

From Wiki
The River Run Riot was a violent confrontation between the Hells Angels and the Mongols motorcycle clubs that occurred on April 27, 2002, in Laughlin, Nevada during the Laughlin River Run. The conflict began when members of the Hells Angels went to Harrah's Laughlin to confront members of the Mongols who had allegedly harassed vendors that sold Hells Angels related merchandise. Mongol Anthony Barrera, 43, was stabbed to death, and two Hells Angels, Jeramie Bell, 27, and Robert Tumelty, 50, were shot to death.
This was the first time that there were multiple murders in a Nevada casino.
Six members of the Hells Angels, as well as six members of the Mongols were sent to prison as a result of the event, and 36 other people had their charges dismissed.[3] Frederick Donahue, one of the Hells Angels indicted after the incident, evaded capture for six years before surrendering in July 2008.

The stabbing was captured on film and can be seen on youtube, although it gets taken down fairly regularly.

Bill, thanks for this explanation! I was wondering also what that sign meant!

Jon, thanks for the double trip report! Congrats on the royal! I may look into Pickleball - it has become quite popular here in MN too; so i may have to check it out! Take care; Gail
Jon, thanks for the great trip report! It has been great following your adventures over the last many years. I do over 90% of my gambling at Boyd Properties in Las Vegas and have left most of Caesars behind. As mainly a video poker player, I wanted to try Westgate last time, but didn't make it over there. Happy future travels!
Thanks for all the reports and I must say, you're looking really fit in the pickleball pic, a bit different from a few years back. It's good to see that you're happy with the new direction in your gambling life, ENJOY!
Well, it didn't take long...I'm back in both Laughlin and Las Vegas in April. Of course, any of the Caesar's properties are no longer on the list aside when friends invite me to a Diamond Lounge. Sam's Town regularly gives me comps and the Westgate continues its great deals ($20 per night with free play). As I've said before, it's going to be nice to not feel I have chase points any more and just have fun.
