My First Vegas Trip And Quartermania Hijinks

My first trip to LV was also in '91 and also at the IP. I got a single occupancy four night package with TR air from Seattle for $179! The casino was dark and dingy. The elevator took forever getting to the SECOND floor where I stayed. I would stay in a like room again in a heartbeat if it wasn't on the strip. The room was good sized, I'd guess 375-400 sqft. Plenty of room for one person and it was perfectly clean. Most second floor rooms aren't much, but this one faced east and had a balcony to sit on overlooking the pool. I loved the heat and the town itself. I was hooked. I've been 60+ trips since and still love it. I gravitated to locals hotels 20 years ago and have stayed DT a handful of times. I always find something new to do each trip in addition to revisiting old ones. I can say that in all those trips, there's never been a bad one.

Good Luck!

So true!
Even the trip in 2011 where I did nothing but lose, I still had fun!
I often say the same thing. I have been to Vegas over 50x, I have never said "man I wish hadn't gone" I am always aware that even when I lose at gambling it is paying for the "free" rooms and food and drink. if I win it is just a bonus.
The casino had full mirrors around it. Why? Because it was tiny and the mirrors made it appear bigger.
It looked a LOT bigger in the full page ad.
Ah,we had fun and felt like high rollers.

We memorized basic and learned card counting.
