Unbelievers will ultimately be sent to the lake of fire (Revelation 20:11-15).
I'm struggling to think of a less thoughtful thing one could tell another person at a time of loss such as this.

I'm pretty creative, but this might take me a while. Fred Phelps would be impressed.

Sorry to hear of your friend's passing, rayxtwo.

Sorry for your loss, Ray. I agree with you, Chilcoot. This is not the time or place to proselytize about one's religious beliefs.
I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. It's a shame you weren't able to make the trip there with him. At least he was doing something he loved to do.

A close friend of mine lost her fiancee on the way to Vegas. They loved to jump on the red eye on Friday night and travel to vegas every chance they got, and they decided to get married there. On the way to Vegas, he had a massive heart attack on the plane, and could not be saved. Now we have defibrillators on the planes and he would have had a better chance if it were to happen today.
I'm so very to hear about the loss of your friend. I appreciate you taking the time to pass along the nice way Harrah's treated the how thing. Too often, we're quick to share the bad things hotels do to us, but we don't see a lot of the good things that they do. That was nice of you. k
Our condolences on the loss of your friend. So good to hear that CET acted so compassionately.

Sorry to hear about your friend. Ironically, on the same day, a good friend of mine in high school died of a heart attack while on vacation in the Dominican Republic. Last time I saw him was when he was in San Diego and we met for dinner in La Jolla at a sports bar to see the Giants play on a MNF game.

Glad to hear that Harrah's (Caesers) handled everything so professionally.

This is just AWFUL! I am sosorry to hear this happen, my prayers are with you. HUGGS
It's always a shock to lose a friend or loved one when everything seems to be going great. I send my condolences your way.

A good friend of mine died in a shocking way last year (sitting in his front lawn and the neighbor kid next door hit the gas instead of the brake coming home and his car jumped a ledge and landed on top of my friend, killing him instantly). He had just retired and was enjoying his life. Sometimes I still can't believe he is gone.

As time passes, I hope you are able to think of the good times with your friend to help overcome the loss. God Bless.

(and yes, the casino acted in a very classy way)
I have the name of the person that took care of everything but I have not received a return phone call yet. When, and if, I get a call, and they want thier name published, I will post it here.

Thank you everyone.

Ray
sorry about your loss and good of them to help take care of you.

My dad died at the Cal 10 years ago, during super bowl weekend. My mom, uncle and I flew up there and they put us up in 2 rooms at the cal. We had to go all over to settle things, first with the hospital that took care of his body, then to the dept of health to get the death certificate, then to the funeral home that accepted his remains and help with the planning to ship his body back to a funeral home on Maui, then to another hospital to get the authorization to transport his body back to hawaii and so on. It was a real pain to get everything together and I was the driver going all over to get things done. While I wouldn't mind passing away in vegas (after a good craps roll I hope) I wouldn't want to put the burden on my family to bring my body back. My dad's relatives all wanted to see him one last time before they cremated him so we had to bring his body back instead of cremating him up in vegas. Didn't realize there were so many restrictions when carrying a body on the airplane.

2001 was probably the worst year of my life. my dad died, then there were other problems that happenned in the year and then 9/11 happenned.

I wrote to the Cal thanking them for the rooms and helping with my dad but get a reply but I didn't care because they helped us out when we needed it.
