MyVegas Cruise Redemption Question

Hey All,
Anyone redeem points for a cruise yet? I'm looking at the NCL's for Dec and am wondering if the redemption is for one or two people. On the first page of the booking process, looks like it's only for one but the finer print on the following page says "good for first and second passenger only". Is there a specific number to call for info? My email thru MLife hasn't been answered.
Any info or tips greatly appreciated!
I believe it is for two people. There is no mention of a paid companion requirement. If you purchase the cruise you can always refund your purchase and get back your gold coins.
To my understanding it is two as well. My mom was looking at it, but we didn't have time to go.
Thanks for the info! I've been saving these points for almost two years and have never redeemed any. Didn't know that you could cash them back. Soooo...first time cruiser, first time MyVegas rewards....what could go wrong?
A lot probably.

While I have no direct experience with Mlife I have been a serial points redeemer for a long time. Most programs are worse than pulling teeth. There are some points programs out there that are easy to redeem, I hope that Mlife is one of them. Of those that are not I have found that personalized perseverance usually obtains what is truly due. Repeated phone calls to live customer service personnel demanding what was promised usually does the trick, Don't take no for an answer. It can be frustrating and not seem worth it at times.

On cruising.....there are those that love it and those that hate it. When I was younger and as a racing sailor I was bored to death. All I could think about on board a cruise ship at sea was how much more fun it would be if I were sailing instead of cruising.
Now that I am older and 'smarter' I much prefer lounging around, being waited on and being surrounded by good food. If you like eating and relaxing you should like cruising.

Also consider that cruise lines are one of the products that are directly proportional in price to luxurosity (I just made that word up!). The cheaper and shorter cruises are nothing more than 'booze cruises' and can be likened to a visit to a suburban mall on Black Friday, but with everyone drunk. The longer and more expensive are usually more civilized and enjoyable.

The best value we have found are the two week long cruises. There is a smaller pool of people that can, or will, take that amount of time for a cruise and you can often find them for the same and sometimes less than a 5 or 6 day cruise. We have been taking a 2 week cruise on Disney Cruise line every other year for quite some time now. We believe it to be the best value in the cruise industry.

On shore excursions...I do not use the cruise line's excursions. In every port visited by cruise ships there are private companies that offer the same excursions at discounted rates. A little research through Trip Advisor and other popular sites can find you the reputable companies.

Good luck! And keep us posted.

We are talking about myvegas. You can get a refund on a purchase if you are unable to use it. There is a refund button on the item purchased in your myvegas wallet. If the item does not have a refund button you can contact myvegas support and they will refund your gold coins.
I've glanced at the cruise redemption, but haven't given it serious consideration due to the added costs of airfare to the ports. I have cruised both solo and as a couple. The solo cruise required extra funds because the cabin rates are based on double occupancy per person. I don't know if the myVEGAS cruise rewards are solo or couple required. I have 1.8m loyalty points and could see taking a cruise if the port-of-call happened to be close to a race track I am working as an extension of a trip to the area.
While we didn't redeem for cruises, we redeemed prior to my boycott for the paid parking. The first time was easy peasy. The second time and after they have pretty much made the points worthless, it was many unnecessary phone calls and a system designed to be difficult. My beef with some freebies is that. Call here, then call here, then pick up voucher here, the pick up tickets here, then call here, then do this, then do that. Another reason I am not an mgm customer. I also tried to teach a new player how to play cards so we were at a ten dollar blackjack table and they very Rudely said they don't even rate a player for under $25 a hand. Well I was a player, so they lost my business and any potential new players.

We did redeem a "free" cruise from harrahs and it ended up being a good deal. We had to pay the taxes and fees but was still an out the door deal. Was very pleased with the transaction and have did it twice and they even comped our drinks on board the ship as an additional perk we were unaware of.

Overall, my experiences with using myVEGAS LP's have been very positive. I've redeemed points for rooms at the Luxor (twice), Excalibur, NYNY and Mirage, as well as free play and meal comps.
