MyVegas game - Mandalay Bay comps

Happy new year everybody. In the past two years, I earned enough points on the MyVegas game, in order to receive four consecutive comped nights at the Mandalay Bay hotel. Four nights was the maximum you could redeem within a 30 day period. These comps included weekend dates. I used the "Bonus" dates, which required far fewer points than the regular dates.

When looking at what I wanted to book, they provided a calendar of all the dates that were available for the MyVegas comps.

This year they have done the following:

1. They are no longer providing a calendar.
2. They appear to only be able to comp weekdays (Sunday through Thursday)
3. It doesn't appear there are any bonus dates, but the weekly comp seems to take fewer points than what I remember it took last year.
4. In order to get your comp for a week day or 25% off, you must first redeem your points. You will then be given a code. You must then go to MLife.com and enter the code to see what dates are available for up to 90 days (life of your redeemed points).

I don't want to redeem my points only to find out there is no availability for the dates I'm considering going. These dates have been available in January the last two years, but I don't know the status this year.

Has anybody booked under this new format and do you have any information on available dates?

Thanks for your response. I did register with the board. It looks like a severe draw-back for MyVegas. You can get rooms for 25% off or for a certain rate on certain dates, but it looks like there are far fewer dates. It also looks like comped rooms on weekends is a thing of the past. I may stop playing. I have a little over 700,000 points, but if I can't get any good rewards with them, why bother to play?
I agree.....I got dates at the Mirage in October last year and they worked for me. However, no dates at Mandalay Bay in June? That shouldn't be a prime month with temperatures hovering in the 90's or higher.

It is crazy that June doesn't have dates. What next, Lions over Bears six straight games? Living the Dream!!

They have cut back on room comps by a bunch, and not being able to see the available dates until after committing points doesn't make sense to me...other than they didn't realize the game would get as popular as it did, and more players earned significant points than they thought they would. I'm level 734, I currently have 1,660,000 points, and I've already used points for comped rooms at three different MLife Las Vegas hotels. With a point wallet that fat, I'd think they might offer me more than someone with less than a million, but they don't. I don't buy chips to play, so that might also have something to do with what is available.
I think many people are sitting on a mil + LPs with nothing to use them on. I still go on everyday for my spin but rarely do I play. I played in the beta stage and the comps were phenomenal. I got penthouse suite at Mirage and a regular one at MB lots of free tickets and food.

Many of the discounted rooms you can do better searching sales, Most of the better benefits you must stay at an M life hotel. I understand now that some of the hotels are requiring a PAID stay to use the extra comps with the key sign.

As long as folks keep buying chips why should they change? I try to look at the new partners as they often offer nice perks in the beginning.
Any one remember an article (LVA) about showing your card at another casino to get rated as VIP at that casino?
Maybe I'm on the wrong site. Sorry <<new to this>>.
Welcome!

I vaguely remember some downtown casinos were doing this.....maybe the Plaza.
