Nascar in Vegas

Does anyone know where the Nascar Race next Sunday might be televised? We are staying at the Flamingo so anywhere within walking distance on the Strip would be great.

I know this is Football season and I enjoy watching the games but I'm also a Nascar fan and would like to watch the race while we are in Vegas next Sunday. Last time I was there a few years ago we couldn't find Sundays race being televised anywhere including the sports book and when we asked the bar tender to change the channel he wasn't able to because he said people wanted to watch Football. We ended up back in the room and watched it from there.

My preference would be to sit at a bar, play video poker and watch the race.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
I'd call the Tilted Kilt (immediately south of the Flamingo) and ask them in advance if they will put the race on one of their TV's for you. I'm guessing that they'll agree, but I'm also guessing that they don't have video poker. I far prefer watching sports at a bar vs a sports book.

Good luck
I will never understand the attraction of watching cars being driven in a counter clockwise circle for hours. Boring and redundant, at best.
I don't enjoy NASCAR, but that's not the point. JGR789 is looking for a place where he can enjoy the race.

I thought the same way, drmilled, until I decided to look into it, i.e. support the hubby Sunday hobby. It is really kind of all about the drivers, the teams that get them to (and around the track), etc. What kid (males mostly) didn't have a go-kart in their youth?

For instance, during Mark Martin's glory days my husband watched every televised race and rooted for him (Mark is from our state, a little guy who did good for a while). I then began to see what all the fuss was about. Most NASCAR fans attach loyalty to one or more drivers. It is like watching football or basketball, except instead of rooting for a team to run a ball up and down a court or field, or at least do well, a NASCAR fan roots for a driver/car to win or at least do well (top 10 or so), and ideally for him to not crash out. You usually had a back up favorite or two if your guy crashed out. Fans 'like' a driver for different reaasons, e.g home town boy, etc. Hubby didn't like Dale Earnhardt Sr. because he ran roughshod over other drivers, but that is precisely why Sr. won so many races and why so many fans loved him. And like with every spectator sport, there is a lot of sideline drama.

We attended two NASCAR races in Vegas. We had decent seats, but unless you can see what is going on in the pits and elsewhere on the track besides your place in the stand, it loses a lot (for us anyway). You miss the sideline drama. Like football, if you have money and pay for primo seating, sky box, etc., hear the announcers telling what all is going on everywhere, etc. that is probably NASCAR heaven.

Still, all that and more you see much better on TV--up close and personal with every driver, every car, every pit stop, and of course every crash with as many instant replays as there is network time to play them. That's another thing, you are rooting for your driver's pit crew to be quick and and get their guy back on the track (after gassing up, or repairs). Nano seconds count in the pits, and it isn't just any dude off the street that is picked for a pit job. You get to watch the teams' head guys cyphering the best strategy, what to do based on how much gas is left in the tank...to pit now or stretch it out another lap? etc.

Tthis may still sound boring to you, drmilled, and that is understandable, just as someone else may not care to watch tennis or golf or basketball. But this is some of what makes NASCAR enjoyable for some guys and gals.
I guess we are boring people. Besides traveling to some races, watching all of them, we actually come to Vegas for Nascar Championship Week. To each his own.
I didn't really intend for this to become a discussion about the merits of watching Nascar, but rather I was asking if anyone could tell me WHERE on the strip it might be televised.

Thanks for the suggestion about the Tilted Kilt. I'll have to check it out.

I wonder if anyone else has any suggestions?
