Nationwide Crime Wave

Let's review

First forky said that charter schools do well because they select the best students
Then he said they do well because they expel the worst students
Now he says they underperform even though NYC charters are among the highest scoring schools in the state. There is one NYC charter that underperforms - that is the one run by the teachers union

Well there aren't enough charter schools to cover demand either. Start with the 1% that are in the most jeopardy and build on it. And yeah...I get that Charter schools are a more feasible alternative in the short run. No reason they can't co-exist....no reason successful public schools can't co-exist too....if that's how the parents choose to spend their education vouchers.

Yep. The most motivated and least transient parents take the effort to enter the lotteries and get on the waiting lists. Anyone with a functioning brain stem knows that those children will perform better than the children of the apathetic parents who don't give a shit.ft>

Yep. When you get the children of the most motivated and least transient parents, and then you expel the worst of those, you get better test scores. Is anyone surprised?ft>
Forkie, just blurt out what your really thinking. "I hate those who work hard and succeed!"

Almost 25% of NYC public school children are either in a charter school or waiting to get in one; an indictment of the quality of the present system

TRANSLATION:

More than 75% of NYC public school children have parents who have chosen, for whatever reason, not to try and get them into a charter school, reflecting those parents' assessment of the quality of charter schools.
