NBA LIKE NFL

NBA strike or a NFL strike. I could care less about money fighting money. Let them walk!!! Put college games on TV this will help education programs all over the country. Professional sports yanks our chains everytime a contract comes due. SCREW THEM
You're so right. Hard to believe such a high % of pro athletes are so leveraged, living from paycheck to paycheck. You'd think there'd be at least some who have an idea how to set up a budget and put something away for retirement.

TV money for sports goes back into the athletic budgets & the D1 colleges have a huge ethics problem as it is

A close friend of mine's brother worked for the Denver Broncos a few years back. He mentioned that all most all of the agents and financial advisors advise them to "lease" their vehicles. Rent a mid-range condo and so on. Most don't listen as they have never had money before and think that money train ain't stoppin for them. Sad to say it does pretty quickly.

The NFL and most pro sports have required workshops for rookies to attend to teach them about "saving" their money. Some folks just don't want to listen. Easily made and easlier lost!

After watching the HBO sports show with Bryant Gumbel on the bowl games. the government and IRS need to do some close auditing. The are suppose to return 70% to the teams and give the communities 20% or so. Most teams earn more like 52% and some communities get as little as 2%.
The are to be "charities" but dont seem to do their part in giving back! They questioned the "tax" advisor for most bowl games and of course he would not comment on how much they actually "keep" in their coffers. The sugar bowl has something like 30Million and give the city of New Orleans less than 2%
