And thus the thread dies, not with a bang, not in fire, nor with a shout, but with a whimper and ruminations of grown men playing with their balls. So go ye to your bread and circuses, only know that man cannot live on bread alone and when you watch the trapeze act, it is not the aerialists that works without a net, nor is he the one headed for a fall before which pride goeth.
Again, I can only recommend, "If it hurts when you do that, stop doing that."

In the meantime, here's another question:

How far can one lower an infinite rope into a bottomless pit?

All the way ... assuming you have enough time
No, . . . this is incorrect.
One cannot lower the rope "all the way" even with all the time in the world.

I'm disappointed in you DD. You failed the logic test. You have to parse the statement from back to front. Since it would take an infinite amount of time then the last statement (you have enough time) is false. Since, the first statement is logically dependent on the last statement (assumed) then the first statement must be false.

I'll have to go with good old DD on this because he is correct. Doubletalking an answer with too many incoherent phrases only provides proof that someone doesn't like being set straight.

Excuse me, but we refer to him as "poor old DD".

That's it ? ? ?
No one cares to answer? Poor old DonDiego is saddened, . . . and not for the first time, . . . or, likely, the last.
The question has a legitimate honest-to-goodness "real" answer.

Now you got me interested. But I don't want to think, it hurts my head too much. Awaiting the answer.

Rob, nice of you to drop by. Did you miss the wink at the end of my comment. That was the hint. Not surprised you didn't understand it though.
"Forever"
As much or as little as you'd like.
I'll go with halfway.
