How dull is that?

DonDiego proposes a vote on the title, . . . and has some nominees:

__Through the Looking Glass (And What Frank Found There)

__À la recherche du temps perdu [In Search of Lost Time]

__The Hindenburg Address

Any other nominations before the vote is called?

Something strange just happened here.
Where'd that quote come from?

Well gosh if you're going to go there let's just call it:

Sisyphus's Lament

Nearly at the top and so far I've stayed moss free.

(To be serious for a moment: Rob spent a good chunk of his life on this and even if we can't agree with his conclusions I at least appreciate his effort and conviction.)
Good for you Kaypea. I'm glad someone is getting that royal 1/47 times.

Me? I've played 165,000 hands since my last royal always using the strategy I learned from Dancer. I'm sure in the last year I've had four to the royal a hundred times. I had it three times last Wednesday night. Arc recounted how he had it some 220 times before he hit one.

i dont know why this would bother me.

I assume by 'blocked', he means he has you on his ignore list. Of course he may believe he has found a way to block you from posting or seeing his posts or something.

So if I quote you, I wonder if he will 'block' me too

I think it's impossible to do an objective analysis of a system with many subjective parts. The best you can do is an objective analysis on the measurable parts and then maybe a subjective opinion on the rest. Or maybe a big aspect of the conclusion is that it is not a testable system since there are many subjective parts that do not follow a specified regimen.

Sorry to give so many alien views on what should be simple logical mathematically sound principals, but I'm just another blind man examining a different part of the same elephant.
I am not convinced that describing the RS "method" a "system" is appropriate.

Using the word "system" implies that there are strict rules to follow for every conceivable situation that may arise.

The use of the word "system" to describe the RS "method" is an injustice to the generally accepted definition of the word "system". I suggest using the word "Method" to define his madness.

JMHO, of course.

Now, in all fairness, I have not read his book, but have read a lot of his column's and articles and believe that the use of the word "system" is an injustice to the generally accepted definition of that word.

It might interest you to know that the only way I've heard the word "system" used in 23 years in the pro gambler biz was to describe crackpot ideas that had no basis in fact. For me the word "system" implies nothing but negative connotations. I have also heard many a pit boss say how much they love system players and how they wish everyone had a "system".

I cover this in my book in the subheading entitled, "Look There in the Sky, It's a Bird, No It's a Plane, No It's a "System".

Not me. Or I'll need a few more years to get my 47 chances. The only time I have ever gotten a royal was a decade ago, playing a single credit on a multi-play penny machine. Big money! I'll get four to the royal maybe three times per trip, so I still have several more trips to exceed 47 chances. I'll play one or two slow hour long sessions per day, just long enough to have a drink or two before my leg falls asleep and I have to move onto something else.

The absurd is the essential concept and the first truth.

He who despairs over an event is a coward, but he who holds hope for the human condition is a fool.

All great deeds and all great thoughts have a ridiculous beginning.
